Change oil light

I changed my oil yesturday and I tried getting the change oil light off when I press the button it doesnt blink like its suppose to so I just hold it down and yet nothing happens? what am I doing wrong. and yes the car is running when I try it.

car cant be running........... just turn the key to the "on" position then press the button

turn the key to the on position

hit the reset, you don't have to hold it long, sometimes even tapping it works

the light will flash tire pressure or oil first

to cycle through the two just tap the button, when it is on the oil light, hold it until it chimes, it will reset

and yes the car is running when I try it.
thats whats wrong :banghead: the car should be off but the key needs to be turned.

You can also turn the key on and depress the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds and it will beep. At least on the newer ones.
