Well it has been talked about well here it is.

June 19th is Olds homecoming show in Lansing, MI

well we are going to make this June 18, 19, 20.

June 18..... everyone start arriving by 3 pm. With some evening activities

June 19 .....Olds homecoming show, possible Museum tour, evening activities

June 20......Finish up and go home in the afternoon.

Subject to change.

there will be a registration fee. fee covers shirts and other memobilia

I also would like to go to Cedar Point...haven't been there since they first came out with the Magnum2000 or something, I think that's what it's called, I don't remember. registration is $10 if u send it in befor june 1st.
after june first including the day of the show registration is then $15

anyone intersted in pre registiering can get in contact with myself or oldsman..... the info is prolly also posted on the OCA website.

remeber this is the regeistration for the SHOW ONLY...... this doesnt include the registration fee for the alero show and straveganza...... we dont expect there to be a huge fee though..... prolly just enuff ot cover cost of tshirts for everyone who wants to attend.

Far as GA welcomed, well it hasn't been discussed, since Sweet is out of town.

I don't see why they couldn't come but just to let them know that the show on the 19th is an OCA show, not an Aleromod show. They are welcome to come and be spectators but will be unable to show.

To inform everyone this is not GAP or a take off of GAP. Since this being the last year for Oldsmobile and the Alero we thought it would be a great idea for us to come together to this show giving the situation. So it was setup around this show.

Molson, calm down and listen to what is being said.

The main reason for even going to Lansing on that Saturday is Olds homecoming. It is an OCA event, so therefore it is an Olds show. That doesn't mean that lots of others can't come, it just means that, per OCA rules, only Olds cars can show. We have no say in that.

We are staying at a different hotel from everyone else going to homecoming, so that we (aleros, aleromod, etc.) can have our own little thing in addition to the olds show. Yea, Brent needs to have a say in it, too, but I see no problem with the GA's coming, and I think that is pretty much what the others said too.

On Saturday, is the Oldsmobile Homecoming show that is a Oldsmobile Club of America Zone Show. In order to show you must have an Oldsmobile or Oldsmobile Power.

Fiesty, I don't know who you are hearing that from, but its wrong, the GA crowd is one of the best bunch of people I have met, and they like us too. A lot of the Olds people at GAP last year did not come and socialize with any of the GA people, that could have been cause for some of the animosity.

I am totally with Jim on this 100% as well.. I didnt personally get to go to GAP at all.. but from what I hear it was absolutely amazing all years with amazing acceptance by the GA members for the amod members... which is real nice to see..

I have hung out with a few GA members and they are bunnyin kick ass people for sure!

Personally, I had a TON of fun at GAP last year, both with GA and Alero people. Both crowds are great people. I wish I hadn't gone to Walmart during beer pong registration, but I did make a good fill-in with Noodle! lol.

But yeah, it is no big deal.... I would invite the GA guys, and just let them know that the actual car show is an oldsmobile show. If I could make it out there financially, I would... but with the wedding in September, and the fact that we already can't afford a honeymoon means that I won't be able to make any trips this summer.

The motors in the Alero's and GA are not Olds motors but GM motors. What is meant buy Olds power is that it is an actual Oldsmobile motor.

You have to find something other then those temp positions, they never work out. Sure, they tell you they are temp now but may be FT in the future, but if that were so, they woun't use a temp agency.

I wasn't temping on this one... i was permanent since November 2003. My company was forced to cut back on budget and since i had no seniority.. i got axed... I thought for the first time in a long time that my job was secure.. benefits/RSPs and everything... but i was in for a surprise... :(

anyways its been stated by oldsman but lemme put it in my own words....

GA's can come if they want.... they are more than welcome to..... though i doubt many would want to attend an alero organized function.

there is no way in HELL they will be aloud into the carshow on saturday though.... its an OCA sponsored event..... not an aleromod event. if it aint an olds its not in the show.

the whole reason for this weekend was cause me and scott got to talkin..... we figured since there was no gap this year it would be nice to try and set up abit of a longer weekend for people to get together and hang out. we figured the weekend of the Homecoming show would be good seeings as how the alero chapter was newly formed and this is hte last year for the alero being made also. we thought it would be nice to have a good showing at an OCA event to show those people we are serious about the chapter.

yes we are gracious that we have been invited to gap...... thats very kind of them. its just that with the circumstances this year..... we are organizing something around and OCA specific event. like me and scott talked about...... next year perhaps if we decided to do this again it wont be structured around an OCA event..... in which case GA's would be more then welcomed to be in our "carshow" of sorts.

but seriously..... u people cant tell me more then 3 GA's would want to bother showing up to ASS if there was a GAP takin place this year????

Yeah, I booked the rooms not knowing we would have to commit to a certain number. It makes no sense, since they only hold them until a month before. But they want money if you don't fill them up. And with everyone staying together, it'll probly be less than 20 rooms. So I wouldn't sign the contract, and Oldsman is dealing with it.

ya i think people have a slight miss conception of what will go on. last year at night we would just hang out in the parkin lot by our cars and just chat and bullpoop and throw back afew beers.

there was also a beer pong tourney...... but its not like we leave the hotel and go out to bars and poop. we just chill and have a good time.

there were lots of people at gap last year that werent 21 and they all had a great time as well.

Cedar Point is in Sandusky Ohio. The Travel channel rates it as the best amusement park in U.S.(what misslindsey said). Misslindsey just tell your boss you need that day off for your annual check-up or something. I don't really drink either so I probably won't be drinking.

FYI..... its the magnum XL200....... then they built the millenium force in 2001 with a top speed of about 90mph i believe... and its 310ft tall.....

last year the built the top thrill dragster..... lauches u from a dead stop to 120mph in about 4 seconds...... then u go straight up 420ft.... its nutz nothing like it. ;)

I found an apartment in South Lyon, MI, which is south and east of Brighton (if that helps) - it's northeast Detroit area. It's the top floor of a house converted to a one bedroom apartment. I love it so far!
