BATTERY/ ANTI-LOCK

Ya well I have a question. I was driving around today and then my battery light somes on and just a few seconds later the anti lock light comes on on my gauge. Then i start to notice that my gauges are getting dimmer. So I park it take it out for a drive later and its god for awhile, then they come back on. Then all of a suddne all my poser and lights went off. my headunit even went back in then "it all came back. I want to know what you guys think about this?

Take it into your deal or Autozone or some place and get them to see if your ecu is putting out any codes. I'll bet dollars to donuts it's either your alternator or your battery. :thumbsup:

ya its either the alt or battery..... have them check the alt first to see if its putting out enuff current to keep the system charged. if the alt is fine then its the battery

You don't live in New Mexico or Arizona do you? I hear there are a lot of UFO sightings out there. :o :lol:

Joking aside, does your engine do anything odd at this time? Sounds like your alternator is flaking out, or your electrical system is surging.

Also check to make sure all your fuses are properly seated and that the wiring / wiring harness going to the fuse box is properly seated with nothing loose.

im agreeing with what everyone else has said so far. i had this happen on an older car of mine and it was the alt.

ya actually now that i think of it....... my car did hte exact same thing when i finally fried my alt. of course running a 3000 watt system will do that.

but most likely ur car wont start this morning........ jsut watch

I had the exact same thing happening to me. I clean the battery terminals and it was still happening, so i checked the voltage reading on the battery, and it was just time to be replaced. Now everythings fine.

Mine was doing almost the same thing. Some friends said it was battery and it needed to be changed (original battery). I took it to autozone so they could test it and their machine said it was "good". It did it again the following week so I went ahead and replaced it, haven't had any problems after. Guess autozones machine wasn't working right.

Ya well nothing is working on it right now. No gauges or anything they fell when i was driving it one time never cam eback. Its time to bring it in.

well say everthing is sorta dim and you turn the radio up so it dims even more when it hits the bass... whille its idling and you rev it up to like 2.5 rpm and lights get really bright and no dimming...

also when i try to lock it using the keyless entry it attempts to cherp at me letting me know it locked.. lights flash fine like normal...

thoughts would this be battery or alternator?

that sounds like alternator to me.....im having the same problem......at idle my lights dim, headlights dash lights, everything.......but when i rev up to a couple grand everythings fine.......im reading like 13.1 volts when the car is running no matter the rpm, ive known for a while my alternator was going bad, i just ordered an 160 amp one the other day and its on its way......

i have replaced the alternator a lil while ago... i think the battery may be stock still. Well ill see if i can get it looked at today...

had the battery tested and they said it was very poor... replaced it and no problems yet...

Do you have a Ligher pulley? if so that causes the alt to output voltage at a lower rate. But yea, have them check it at AutoZone first, They do it for free.
