it's from an intrigue. it may not work being wire harness is different and probably controlled by the ECU.
that same thought crossed my mind a few years ago.

a friend did this on a 3000gt (took knobs to a digi setup) you are gonna have to get a new ecu and a few other parts....lemme see if i can find his post about it.

that'd be pretty damn sweet. get to it sat!
...but how would you reprogram the ecu to accomodate that change?

In order to switch to the automatic climate control It will require a ton of modification, especially for a dual zone setup. It requires a handful of sensors (temperature inside the car, sunlight sensor, possibly another sensor for the coolant temp). Not to mention all the different actuators etc.. required by the system.

i was talking with my old man last night about this and thats what he said as well, he said that it wouldnt be worth all the work you would need to do but he still thought it was a cool idea, so i wont be attempting this any time soon.....too much shit ya gotta go through just for simple climate controls

You can't program the ecu. Some cars have the dual climate as a option. The factory produces two models of the ecu with different firmware istalled. The alero never had the option to begin with.

If you try anything be careful, I blew the fuse for the radio when I pluged my HVAC contorls back in when I put in the carbon fiber

not to get off topic, but is there anyway of avoiding blowing any fuses while plugging your hvac plugs back in?

^same here. if your blowing fuses your managing to short some wires together somehow. pulling out or back in... never had a problem.
