hey everyone, i just recently did some body work on my car and im a little bit new when it comes to painting. i touched up some rust spots by sanding them down to the metal, smoothed out the surface with putty, applied primer then painted. The problem is that the paint matches perfectly in some places but appears to be a shade lighter in others. Its not simply a matter of adding another coat, the look appears the same. The paint im using is gm blue and was matched to the car by the number code. If anyone has any suggestions of what to do it would be greatly appreciated.

yea the rule of thumb that ive learned from having work done on my car is you always paint the panel next to the one your working on to blend it in (ie. rear quarter panel, you also paint the rear door), otherwise due to sun fade and weathering, your new paint is gonna look a shade off from everything else
