Im still thinkin about this but i might try and sell my 2 12" infinity woofers and the kenwood amp and buy some real nice speakers for all around the car.
I wish bose would make speakers that fit our cars but they dont.....so im asking everyone what brand speakers they think i should get. I want real good sound since i will be selling the subs.........so give me some ideas please.
Thanks

Polk, Memphis, and O.Z. audio are all execptional brands. Do some research and see what will work best for you.

Im gonna bring this thread back to life and ask people if it is possible if i can custom fit bose speakers in my car. If i did get bose speakers, i would only get them for the back two though, cause im not gonna mess with the front ones.

Looks like i cant do a bose system cause they dont sell speakers for cars. My dad had one in his 02 trailblazer and it was NICE. Ever since then i wanted one when in my car, but bose is gay and doesnt make speakers for cars, or they do and they dont sell them online??? wtf

what it really comes down to is how much you want to spend.
there are good choices in all pricing categories.
the best research is to get out there and listen.
other than that start searching the net for reviews.
caraudio.com is a great resource.

yea im kinda wondering if mine will crack soon, lol but idk yet. its all new stuff i love them, people underrate how good of quaility infinity has
i have kenwood excelons all around on a 4 channel 1000w kenwood excelon amp and they are loud as hell, expensive too :/

Cost me $250 for the 2 subs with that crappy box that broke. The new box ran me around $60.
But yea, infinity is underrated, everyone i talk to who has infinity subs loves them. I got them on ebay for cheap and they are loud. i have an 1100watt amp powering them.

it should, amps should cost more. you can get very nice subs. but to power them it takes a lot of power. Class D amps are crazy in price. a nice Class D amp can run as LOW as 250-$300, with all the extra gadgets. its crazy.

you should forget about the whole bose idea, even if ou found some that fit 9 times out of 10 theyre not going to work right. Most Bose systems are designed to work together, ie. you would need a bose amp and hu to go with the speakers. If I was you I would just get a good set of components 6x9's and a 4 ch amp. Alpine type R's are good if you dont want to break the bank

uhm.. they must sell speakers for cars? i have seen them in cars before.. an example: they are in my aunt's nissan from factory. But i never listened to them, it always seems like the car is broken down so im never in it.. lmao.

^ but for the cost, bose is crap. sure they sound decent, but are VERY over priced.
years ago when they were the top end for speakers, it went straight to their heads. They are just like every other speaker now, but w/ a "big" name that over inflated the price.
A well setup infinity or soundstream or (i believe) Rainbow speakers will all sound better for cheaper.

I have Alpine Type R in the front and Type X in the rear. The sound quality is incredibly amazing. Unfortnately, with these speakers you will need to make new door pods in the front. It's actually really easy and cheap to make. It just takes a lot of time to make them look good. Here is what I made for the very first time and they turned out ok.

did you just cut the 4x6 whole bigger and 'glass the rest?? that looks really good, and i wouldn't mind doing a setup like that myself...

yep, I used 3 inch long wood dowels to build it out and cut some new mounting rings out of 1/2 inch mdf. Just stretched fleece over it and soaked the fleece with fibreglass resin. Let it cure and then add fibreglass as needed to fill out low spots and then just lot of sanding to make it smooth.
