Hello.. I've been reading lots on this site, and everywhere else and a lot of it contradics itself.. I would just like a simple answer to what I need to buy/do.

I've bought a new deck and rear 6x9 speakers and would like to install them. What do I have to buy inorder to keep all chimes working and keep the retained accessory power feature? I'd prefer not to have to buy some sort of relocation harness and have my stock stereo in the trunk.

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, 4 door. RDS radio. AM/FM, CD, Cassette. I'm assuming you need to know what kind of sound system I have.. I have no clue. Whether it's bose and whatever. If you need more info inorder to help, let me know what I need to tell you.

Thanks,

- Will

You'd just need one of those little black boxes, Chime Retention Module or whatever they call it.

go to best buy tell them your car make and model,, they will hook you up.. ALthought a lot of people on this site say you shouldnt pay for the expensive one, It is the one that will keep your chimes.

whiteliquid,

Do you know if it will keep the retained accessory power (RAP)?

And how much will it cost me?

Do you know of any links on this site regarding this issue that I can read over?

Thanks for the help.
