Are the tires new? One of them could be out of round, did you recheck all of your lugnuts?

with these rims i have to make sure the rims are centered correctly. the lugs were tight and the tires were from my previous car; a nissan maxima.

they pretty much covered what I was gonna say: check the balancing, all 20 lug nuts, flat spots, proper inflation.

If that's not the issue, there's one other thing I can think of:
Are these stock rims or aftermarket ones? The lug circle might be different if they're aftermarket. You might just need adapters (hub-centric rings). If you have 5x114.3 rims, then that will definitely be the case. it's an easy fix.

sounds like yo need hub rings...if they are not a perfect fit then thats the problem

Have you ever had the wheels balanced? With different tires, you need to get them balanced again. Different tires = different balance points.

 I type slow...:P

Also, 205/50-R16 seem to be a bit thin for 16's on our cars. Hell, I have 225/50-16's on mine. Might not be much different, just an observation.

Did you say that you put 205's on it? If that's the case, that tires are too small. Have to go with 225's

The rims may be the wrong offset too. Between +38 and +42

Tires being too small would not cause the car to shake, just throw off the speedometer. Make sure the caliper is not rubbing on any of the balancing weights, it they are inside the wheel. I've seen that happen.
