sorry been lookin through forums but havnt found what type of paint to use, and if it would be better to put a clear coat over it after. i have a midnight blue alero and im going to paint the bezels white, to go along with my stickers, calipers and underglow. has anyone painted theres white with a blue alero? how do u guys think it will turn out?
what type of paint should i use? should i use? is there anyway to get rid of scratches inside/outside? do i paint the whole crome peice? or should i cover the areas where the bulbs are? thanks

Well if your painting them white to go along with your stickers and underglow then your car already looks like trash and it will only add to the horror.

Can you post up a pic of your car (larger than your avatar)? I have to agree that I don't think white would look good, but if you're gung ho check with whiteliquid??? I think he did his...

white looks like ass on trim pieces in vehicles... ive seen it done in sunfires... cavi's... civics... never once looked good in any vehicle not to mention it'll chip over time then REALLY look like butt
Fabric covered trim pieces or Carbon Fiber trim pieces looks WAY better most of the time depending on how its used and to what extent.

on midnight blue, you either want to match it or leave it chrome. I would suggest matching it, but mask off the turn signal portions so they still reflect.

personally I say match the colors, but that is only my opinion. The rest of the car is awesome, Good Job! Nice windows. I would consider smokin the taillights.

To answer your original question, almost any type of spray paint will work and you don't need a clear coat. The headlights are a sealed unit so the bezels aren't exposed to weather or other road hazards like stones and road salt. I just painted mine with automotive touch up paint and put them back together. Its been a year and its perfect even after a Canadian winter. As for the color, you won't like white. It will draw attention to the front of the car and away from the rims. I suggest going with a gunmetal (dark silver) It will look classy and custom and will draw more attention to the chrome rims. You should also disable your daytime running lights for the best effect. Good luck :)

I like the tint, but the rims are iffy to me... But that's just me. I need to tint my windows... :( That's going to come later though.... Right now I'm working on the interior... It needs help. lol

I never did like the two-tone tint jobs. Just looks ridiculous IMO. The rims look alright, but not my style. I would agree with mrmike on the color for the bezels. It wouldn't draw attention to your front end, and distract from the rest of the car.

disabling the running lights involves blocking a connection in a relay, however, I forget WHICH relay.
And I didn't even know walmart sold rims, so I don't know where that comment came from. lol

1. not bad...just clear the corners, don't paint the bezels.
2. don't take the comments here to heart, different ppl like different stuff...and the guys here arent scared to tell it to you how it is to them
3. car looks decent...i'm not a fan of the rims or the tint, but its your car so do what you want
