If it's not leaking anti-freeze it's probably the resistor, if it is, heater core.
Can somebody post a note on where this is exaclty. It seems that all the older Aleros are having this problem. Mine's a 2000, and I want to know where it is before it goes, so I can fix it quick

no heat could mean ur thermostat is bad and its letting the engine cool 24/7 instead of closing and letting it warmup .. or you u have a clog somewhere .. or vaccum door for the cold/heat air is stuck (thats what the middle control temp knob does is control a the cold/hear air door by vaccum.
Next time look at the engine temp, if its not up normal mark then the thermostat is staying open and letting the engine cool too much .. meaning its bad .. swap out and u get your heat back.

its amazing how little ken seeming knows about cars but pretends to actually know.
richie is correct......... most likely a stuck open thermostat

ken he said its BLOWING cold air. if you have a bad resistor you dont have different fan speeds.
the resistor has nothing to do with the temperture of the air which means its most likely a stuck thermostat.
and your right you dont claim to know everything. you just like to pretend like you know what your talking about even when you dont. if your not sure just dont post buddy. not posting is better than giving out bad information

Actually Redog is right. The heater core has a block most likely and needs to be cleared. How do I know? I had this happen to me when I bought mine right during winter. Open thermos can't compete with the engine temperatures generated by internal combustion.

Just move somewhere warm sofa or get that g/f of yours to cuddle up in the car
:P thanks Brad, thats tru. Fak the thermostat im moving to texas with Richie. About the thermo stat wouldnt it still be blowing warm air just not cold air? not sure but seems right. So does anyone know where the heater core is? and it was working off and on for a week there so possable wiring or clog? shiiot i better hurry its getting cold in the mornings!

change the thermostat first. it will cost you $8 for a new one and much less expensive than the heater core.
yes its possible its the heater core but you always start replacing the cheapest/easiest things first to try and cure a problem
im jus looking at it now and a have no vaccum to the hvac at all so i think i have a leak or pinch somewhere anyone know about a diagram for vacuum lines i know that a long shot.
anyone know where the hvac gets its vacuum supply from is it the grey hose on the intake to the left of the throttle body? thanx :D

I do agree with this completely

Haynes manual...
15 bux that saves your life...err alero
as far as the thermostat just feel the hose, if you have a 192 temp thermostat just watch the temp climb and feel the hose, it should be cold just up to the point where it opens up all the way and you'll know when it does.
If the car is at operating temp and still not getting heat, not overheating, and not leaking, it's the switch for the trap in the duct
yeah its not the thermo stat its the vacuum lines frigen thing i cant figure it out. anyone know the colour of the supply line going into the far right hvac control the "position" control?
ah shit, it's just two lines if i remember, both clear on it tho ?
Yeah all the lines are clear but when i blow in a vacuum line "grey" beside the Throttle body a hear air leaking and its under the main fuse box on the drivers side. Is that supposed to happen? i guess ill have to take the box out and see after i get my bearings replaced :( stupid HO. no one else has experenced this eh? i dont know why it just started happening
all the duct work should be near the passenger side I thought, I don't know what the leak is you're hearing

check the stat. mine was stuck closed, but it can just as easily get stuck open
this is shit, but at least my wheels arnt falling off anymore. Its got to be the vacuum i've just gotta get the vacuum schematic. when i find out what it is ill post up so everyone knows jus incase it happens.
anyone have any idea where the tempurature door is located?
alright i figured out what is up. The heat door is run by elecronics and a relay on the switch is gone. The vacuum supply hose going to the HVAC (whick is PURPLE) was cut somwhere so i ran a new one. From the gray line going into the intake cover to the HVAC which only controls the position knob. AND this corrected my rough idle because im not loosing vacuum anymore. Now i have heat for now i just left the heater door open untill i can get a new hvac piece,. The heater door is located behind the radio and can be reached by taking out the glove box. Hope this helps someone else in need b4 there g/f or friend kills them for not having heat.
