I am a former member of the michigan grand prix club. I had a 1999 gtp that ran 13.4 in the 1/4. I am new to the alero scene. I have a 2002 with the 3.4.
I am eager to do some modding. I was wondering what there is along the line of aftermarket pcm's? This would be the first thing I would do. I was also wondering what are some of the faster times for aleros? While still being streetable? I look forward to talking to you guys and I am sure I will have more questions as time goes on.
Thank you,
Trevor

really except for a couple aleros that are still in build up stage, there are none out there that are not streetable with all their mods...i believe there might be a few that converted to a rear wheel drive with an S-10 frame, but they literally are only aleros because of the body and engine. your best bet is to first do mods to the engine and stuff before goin to a pcm, pcm wont do shit on a stock engine except change shift points, remove speed limiter, and a few other small things that dont really improve performance much

upgrade the gaskets (LIM notorious), headers, port and polish the head, exhaust upgrade, etc. for starters, then for heavy hitters, forged pistons/rods/crankshaft, turbo,

I dont plan on this car to be as fast or as easy to mod as the the gtp was but I am alway modding anything I own. I hads seen a grand am with the 3.4 and he was supercharged he ran mid 13's I assume it would take alot of money to get there. So that's not an option right now. Fist thing I have to do is a CAI and I want to get a pcm regardless if I need it or not. Does any one know where to get the CAI and a pcm?

yup lower intake manifold, the gasket has a huge history of blowing, and i cant remember the PCM most get, but its like $400 ish if im not mistaken for the simple program, custom program is a lot more

I'm running 14.53 with my set-up but if I got the heads and cam I'd be in the 13's for sure. I tried the heads but the emissions got in the way :(

I have the DHP PCM, it works pretty good, but I'm sure you know that you must run 91 octane or better.

Check out my car domain link in my sig for my mods, and welcome to the site

they all waork the same...from a civic tube(after cutting a cross section of metal behind the washer fluid bottle) to an e-bay kit, i believe a couple of guys on here are starting to make them as well. there are other places like dr.speed, and im sure there are more...but too much $$ IMO.

as for the PCM, you could go with DHP's power tuner if you wanted to go in depth in tuning...
and being from lansing...well im sure we will see you in june...ALOT of us..lol
