Mufflers

Hey im new to the car modding world..haha but i was wondering..(stupid question) but my alero has a muffler with two tips coming from it. I want to get a new muffler but i want it to be single. Does that mean if i find a universal muffler that i can take it in to my auto center and have them weld the new one on??

yeah i was thinking between a flowmaster 40 or 80 but i wanna hear the difference first. I want either a nice muscle car sound or tuner sound.

I had the 80 for a little bit and I liked it, but I've heard Alero with dual 40's so I've been talked into getting dual 40's.

The 80 won't give you a tuner sound, but it doesn't really sound too good at highway speeds, the 40 is a deeper tone
