Does anyone have any ideas how this could be done :

I think it makes the Alero look much more premium and would be very interested in doing it :coolio:

get Wrighty (sp?) to make a clear set and then get them painted with red transpartent paint.

There has to be an easier way.

I thought the same thing when I had my alero and I decided to cover the yellow with chrome trime...I liked it alot...so I covered both the yellow and clear...might give it a try.

Theres no way to do it....the yellow and red pieces are plastic welded together. Only way to do it would be to redo the whole lens.

no...he sprayed the outers red. the signals will still light up yellow though (well, probably orange now, with the red on it)

I see what you mean, protocol. there's no easy or inexpensive way to do that. IMO, leave them stock for now, or tint, or talk to AnderbrA or wrightie for some custom tails. As long as you stay away from vinyl and opaque paint, you should be fine.

I love the way his tails look. What kind of paint did you use or how thick? Think you could whip up a short writeup? I'd be interested in doing that if it doesn't require lots of skill.

Sweet, I used pactra candy red on my interior parts. I'll have to get some clear sometime and try it.

Hmm, that looks pretty interesting.

I still really like the clear signals though, as it simplifies the lights and makes them seem not quite so tall.

For those interested, here's another pic of what the product in the link above might look like:
