Emissions Problem and Other Crap

If anybody could answer these question's pertaining to an '00 Alero 4 door V6 I would greatly appreciate it.

A couple questions 1. I had a Prestige Remote start added to my car and now my service vehicle soon light comes on and off I had it diagnosed and nothing showed up??????? Could it be the alarm or do I just need to replace it? Also, I just recently found out that I have an emissions problem I am going by memory but I think it is a purge valve and a fuel tank pressure sensor that needs to be replaced. What kind of damage could this cause to my car if I continue driving it until I get some cash together (broke college student :D )!!!!!!!!

actually the emission system, not the alarm, is probably what is throwing the SES light. Is the code for the evap purge valve, the fuel tank press. sensor, or both? The pressure sensor is probably not a big deal. The purge valve may big a bigger deal. I can't remember if that is what releases the fumes back to the fuel tank or into the intake system. either way its not a HUGE deal since they are just gonna build up in the fuel tank, that may cause a problem but not likely.

Well the dealership mechanic said that those were the cause of the Service Engine Light to come on but im taking it to another shop today to see what the codes are and what needs to be done and after I find out I will post it.

i would replace the purge as soon as you can then go from there.

the sensor won't hurt anything just cause the annoying light.
