Been workin on it for a couple days.
I've still got a little work to do, like tuck that neon in the trunk a bit (sloppy duct taped on right now) and put two more red cathodes in the front of the car, and also sew the roof cathode into the headliner (just kinda hung there right now) but all the stuff I wanted to do is basically done.

whats the baseball bat for?

The bat.. I'm a scrawny guy and I figure why not carry it around, it might help someday, who knows. Plus it hides a couple wires a little bit. lol

Yea I carry one too. And everyone always asks why so I respond "You never know!" But the car looks really great!

nice job w/ the 2 color glow. I can't see the cathodes in your engine bay lasting a long time though. once they get a moving a little, they are toast.
so you have a silver car with red/blue/orange lighting?
decent job though, just hide those wires better! lol

The orange just comes from too much over exposure of the camera, it's really only red and blue and a little purple from where they mix in places. It started with only red and I decided to finally mix in a little blue.
I'm not totally sure about the engine though, you're right. They've lasted 2 days , but who knows if they'll last a week. It's a bit of an experiment to see what they're up to, since I've never used cathodes before.
And the wires.. yea. I don't like them either. If I ever take on the project of new carppeting (I like Silent's blue stuff, but I'd get red) then those wires behind the back seats (that I'm guessing you're talking about) will go under it. However, I just didn't have the ambition. Those are mostly the only wires you can see unless you go poking around and such though. Oh, and the ones that go to the doors (tried to run them through the rubber thing, failed.
But thanks for the compliments guys. It's nice to know I've made progress from the only mexi-rigged lights days.

"I dont think you have enough glow" maybe you should just get a 8 pack of 200 christmas lights and just line them in and out of your car and also I think you forgot to put some in the glove box, lol just harrassen it looks fine

Maybe that's my next project ;P haha. I think I'm about done glowin it for now. I'm about fresh out of ideas besides changing some things here n there.
I wasn't sure about the two colors either, but since I thouht I had too much red I dropped in the blue. Mixed opinions but I like it I'd say.

i have had blue/red leds on at the same time (due to a shorted wire somewhere in the mix) and it looked pretty sweet. they don't totally blend, to make purple.. some places its red, w/ blue outline and vise versa.
it takes a little getting used to, but as a lighting guy.. pics never do it justice. my interior looks wierd in pics, but everyone who has seen it in person liked it.

I would think a mix of the right colors could look pretty good (again, in person as aforementioned) red and blue could be pretty sweet

No kidding, I broke three while I was putting them in. Gah. (dropping, sitting on, etc.)
The engine was mostly to use up the 2 spare neon tubes and 3 cathodes I had left. We'll see how it does through the winter.

i'm guessing LEDs, but just a guess. :p

i believe he looked at pics of my setup a little too much. :p
the rubber insert can be pulled straight out, and you can take a drill bit to it (by hand) just to tear a small hole in it. Then wire up the led, push the wires through the hole and pull then until the led fits snug in the hole. I'd suggest sanding it down until its level w/ the inner recessed part.
but thats how i did it... maybe he did something different.

Which cupholder? I left the one with the rubber thing unglowed.
The one with the top I just drilled two holes and put the LEDs in them stickin out a little and glued them in.
I did get the door map pocket idea from Cherry, though. I used 4in neon tubes, though.
