can I fit an 8 inch rim (width and with rubber) on my car with out it hiting anything. I have a 1.75 drop. There is a set of rims at SGI salvage from a 94 Grand prix and i'm going to buy them. The car caught on fire and one rim is toast but i can buy a new one. 245/45/17 is the tire but i'm giong to go with a lower profile and skinnyer tire if i can. Just wounding if any one has rims this wide on there Alero. I need to know soon because I'm buying them tomorrow. I can return them within 30 so I can try the two rims with rubber all the way around. The price is right.

depends on the offset i would think. that combo is ever so slightly larger than what im running 235/40/18 and i have about the width of my index finger between the tire and the lower strut mount. i think the offset on my rims is 40.

try playing with this

didn't read it right, thought he meant an 8 inch diameter wheel, not width lol
