get the chrome trim off the door and clean up the wires and you have increased your value.

AHHHH

Audiobahn and a CAPACITOR!

My eyes, my eyes!!!

Looks like a very large excess amount of wire.

If cleaned up, it will look better. Nice start.

THe plastic chrome trim. I dont care for that stuff either. Because Ive used it and had experience with it. THe clear coating evenutally blisters off. YOu goto pull it off, and when you do it will pull the paint off the edge...

i cleaned up all the wire and added a batcap 800 for more juice, the batt gave me an extra 3db,so im hittin right around 148-149db now.

So you havent got metered since adding the bat cap yet ya know its 3dB more :rolleyes2:

Hehe. Im not going to jump down your throat like some will. Im just going to say, I would add a disclaimer as I know theres plenty of people out there that would.

Gosh how many times have I seen that scenario play out... way to many times...

lol

Kudo's for cleaning up your wiring. Probably makes it look better 10 fold. Im one for exposed wiring in a neat fashion :)

the chrome door edge looks a lot better than paint chips. if you pull if off and some paint comes with touch it up and replace chrome. it saves the door edge a lot.

well,i have been metered but it wasnt on an official meter,it was on a friends TL,but i wont be officially metered until next season, then i'll be competing in usaci, iasca and possibly db drag

well, the meter was placed on the windshield as close as we could get it to usaci specs, and also i dont think im gonna have the alero much longer, thinkin bout tradin it in for an '02 camaro Z28 35th anniversary which means i wont be havin any aftermarket stereo.

well,no go on the camaro, they wat 15g's for it so i said forget that,so im lookin into a ford f-250 powerstroke,i'll prolly put my 12's in it.

i think i'll just keep my alero til it blows up,no point in buyin a new car at this point.

Weve been working on a regal with 4 15" Hifonics subs, then switched to Elevation Audio's Executions. Its doing about 150.X with port and front baffle flex like a mother. Also only on battery power, no alt.

154...

Its possible, but so unlikely its crazy...

If its true, you got very very very lucky on your enclosure design.

yes its sound deadend, but i must confess, that score was on the ac meter, which i would say comes out to like a 151-152 on the TL,but still not bad for a 1600 watt MAX amp, which prolly does half that, and the enclosure isnt even tuned right and the baffle is broke on it, i think i fixed that though, and this isnt actually a comp car, i drive this to school mon-fri. and on the weekends i cruise town because i live in a dead town. but yeah, thanks for the positive comments on the car, i dont have that much money into it, it was wrecked recently but i got it fixed, a friend ran it into the back of his mud truck. nice score with the hifonics, i would fix the baffle quick, mine flexed a lot and it took its toll, and the port i would fix but i wouldnt be as worried as much about it as i would the baffel, a friend of mine that i have mentioned on here before, hes got a system, its not much, just a DD 9512, hifonics amp, pioneer h/u, he's building a new box this summer, its gonna be 4 cu. ft., double or tripple baffled( he hasnt decided yet) and hes gonna have all thread and steel tubing for bracing, it'll be tuned to 35hz., i honestly dont see that box moving much, it'll be god awful heavy for only housing a single 12. but thanks everybody, keep the comments coming, and if anyone has any questions about the car or where to get equipment just p.m. me, a friend has a little business and if i can prolly work some stuff out if you ask me to.

What show were you at to hit that score? It would be pritty hard to hit that score with that little power? Not saying that you are wrong, but I wont believe that score untile I see it on a term lab . At a DB drag show.

well, first of all, it was at a local show on a TL, i dont have time to go to sanctioned shows, im 17 and still in highshool, so i only have the weekends, and sometimes not even that. so im limited on shows, im not the loudest here though, i've been beat by a saturn with a DD9515 and a Z2 powering it, its a daily ride, setup for stock class, i think its highest reading was 155 or 156, something like that. its a girl too, her brother is my friend with the town car and he now has two DD2512's, lot louder now, but, in the future i will build a new box and get more powa.
