haha i guess ur rite eh...but it's nothing really special, just some events are cool...the biggest would be the Monster Poker Run in the winter times which brings in ppl from the states...even got sum guys from Germany...

havik
11-19-2003, 05:53 PM
It's ok, I come from a small town too. Biggest event is the annual week long games. The coolest thing is that one event (york boat racing) isn't done anywhere else and the competition is good enough to be classifed as the world championships (that was about 3-4 years ago though, I don't know if it's still called that) :D

99blackalero
11-19-2003, 06:23 PM
small towns are fun, my buddy lives in perth (1 hr from ottawa) and in the spring they have these fairs where one event is cow sh*t tossing (frozen),

ptrudel
11-19-2003, 07:02 PM
i ain't against the small towns, we got sum of the better events as u said...but when those events aren't in the works, well, small towns suck...and cops in small towns just love to harrass the younger guys(namely me) cuz they got nothin else to do...that's gotta be the worst bout small towns...the cops...

99blackalero
11-19-2003, 07:15 PM
not if you drink with them at the local bar :D

ptrudel
11-19-2003, 07:37 PM
u get in trouble here for doing that...so i just sell them sum equipment for super cheap and i usually get out of lots of stuff...but they still bug me alot

havik
11-19-2003, 09:32 PM
I don't know, in small towns you get the opportunity to meet and be friends with the cops. They'd always pull me over and even if I did something wrong they'd just talk to me and let me go.

I got 2 buddies who are cops in the area of Kitchener-Waterloo. They use to pull me over in my Truck (it was slammed and all done up)
I became so used to it that one time I figured it was just my buddy Steve and I kept going for a bit.....I turned into a parking lot and that 's when a different officer got out and gave me poop......I explained it to him and he ended up letting me off but gave me a warning about not having a lisence plate on my front end.

No mods .... yet.

Check the thread out in 3400 Performance section to see what I'm thinking about. I have another 60k to go until I'm off warrantly. After that, anything is game.

What engine mods do you currently have? And Ft. Garry isn't all that far. If you see a guy driving a 2003 Ruby Red sedan with a shaved head / goatee, it's probably me. Flag me down some time for a chat / coffee at Tim Hortons.

Wow rob, seems like we are seeing a surge of peg city 4dr guys joining aleromod these days, I wonder if we're gonna be out numbered soon - Anyone up for lining up a stock 3400 with a relatively stock ecotec (exhaust and a filter) for the hell of it this summer for poops n giggles? Glad to have you aboard dude, and depending on how much you enjoy cars, and the cruising scene in winnipeg, join www.winnipegheights.com - its a forum dedicated to the cruising/car scene in the peg with over 1500 active/posting members. Lots of good info, and a lot of great people on there... My nick on there is the same as here. Take care dude!

You would be correct, that would be my name. You wouldn't be Landon formerly from Convergys would you?

I left that dump almost 4 years ago and am now a Water Treater for an international water treatment company.

As to everyone else RE: 4-Door... my story is that this vehicle is also my mobile office. I drive around all day long in it to see my customers. I carry a lot of chemical test kits, sample bottles, paperwork, and just about anything else you can imagine. If it weren't for that, I would have bought the coupe instead.

Cheers!

Hey guys and gals, i'm new here and i'm from Montreal, i was thinking of getting an Alero. I've rented a few of them over the past few years and always thought that they were great powerfull and comfortable cars , especially the ones with the v6, is there anything i should know before buying one like any major components that are known to break often, and i am going to get the extended warranty, or is there any year that they were worst.

Thanks guys

I was just at Flea Whiskey's a few weekends ago! My buddy and I went to shoot some pool (Landon.. I was with Posh). And no worries, I'm stock ATM as well. I'm waiting for my warranty to expire. Then I have to decide whether I'm going to leave it stock and build another Fiero, or turn my Alero into a sleeper.

Hey JMac, do you just park on portage in the parking lot infront of fleas on sunday nites, or do you work around there and always park it there, cuz if so, I think I have seen it parked there during the day - I used to work at that office mall and if I remember correctly, Rob worked around there too... Hey Jeff, who else do you see from back in the day? As far as whether to do up a fiero or an Alero, do up an alero, less risk of catching on fire :P, and plus there are already a few guys with swapped fieros right now. One is running a 4.6L Northstar outta a caddy, and the other I think has either a 305 or a 350... But yeah, go for an alero sleeper, no one would expect it! :)

Landon, I really only hang out with Pospishell. He feeds me my monthly Convergys gossip. :P

As for the Alero sleeper, it would be tough. I'm still learning about this car, whereas I'm familiar with the Fiero and what can be done. I'm definitely up for trying something new.

As for catching on fire..... mine never did. But my buddie's went up in a ball of flame! HAHAHA! :D

Dude, all the original TL's are still there. If you don't escape that place after 3 years of employment, you're assimilated like the Borg!!! :o

J-Posh, is still kickin' man. He's still over worked and under paid, but no worse for the wear. We kick it a few times a month by going and shooting some stick or out on a weekend bender. :D

Yeah, I remember both Prefontaine and Bonnie. The associates made my day around there (and Pospishell). I really couldn't give 2-poopes about my peers or upper management. Poop always rolled down hill around that place, no matter who was at fault. :(

I sold my turntables and mixer (still have my vinyl though). Went out and bought 2 new guitars and got back into that instead. Got sick of the dance / rave scene with all the candy kids.

My home town is Norway House, which is roughly on the same latitude line as Edmonton. So I'd be in contention for furthest north Alero too :D But for now I call Winnipeg home, so some of you have me beat for the title. Anyways... ;)

MAlero, what rims you getting?

ptrudel
05-31-2004, 04:10 PM
u got any pics of the rims? and do u ever drive northwards sometimes? if so, maybe we could meet up sumtime...i'm way north, and i know u'd never be up this way, but doesn't mean i can't drive down...i'm in New Liskeard....and in North Bay during college...

Last week of August is a good time to be near here. On the island we have one of our biggest car shows of the year in Parksvillie at the beach. As well the Vancouver Island Exhibition is here. Our idea of a fair with games, rides, food, 4-H displays and competitions etc.

You should think about checking the car show out. I wont have my Alero entered this year, Im strictly doing Sound-Off competitions but I will have my dads 1970 Challenger T/A there. It's so rare people often try to argue that there is no such thing as a Dodge/Trans Am highbred.

cool, finally another west coaster who is close to me. Im in vancouver. Welcome aboard eh!

I go over to the island every 6 months or so to vist my buddy in Courtney. When is the car show in Parksville?

If you have time you should come to the Olds Nationals in Seattle this July.

oh, and we like to keep all the old posts, cause you never know when they might come in handy. heh.

Hey all! Haven't been on here much in the past school year, so I'd thought that I'd give a shout out to everyone on here from the 'peg! If you've got any questions about Alero stereo's, I quite likely can be of some help. ;) Anyways, hello to all canucks again!

The car show in Parksville is being held on July 31st. I won't have my car entered in the show but I will be a model for Lower Level Pleasures truck club. Definetly ony of my favorite local shows of the year.

Possibly even more exciting to watch is Thunder in the Valley.... I get chills just typing it. Everything from hotrods, street cars and pro drag racers show up to this annual event at the old runway from the closed airport in Port Alberni. Thats from August 12-14th.

If you are in Vancouver there are several events happening near you to check out like the 24th Super Car Show & Shine in Whiterock on July 24th even stuff out in Kelowna. If you want more dates and locations of shows let me know.

Odd question, anybody on here from, Kingston. I keep seeing a black 4dr no spoiler, and "final lap" graphics with a large fart car. Just curious if anyone knows who this is.
