I just recently posted a thread about my coolant issues. Now a week later all my problems are fixed supposedly. I had my Intake manifold gasket replaced with some other odds and ends. Now after picking my car up from the mechanic, my check engine light is on….I’m sure it’s from them working on the engine…I was wondering how I can get this light to turn of, because I am pretty sure nothing is wrong with the engine. LOL

First, go get the code checked at advanced or the equivlent and find out why its on before you try to turn it off....if you find out its something stupid, just unhook the battery for a little while and it will all reset. Now if the light comes back...you've got a problem. Now my question is this. Did the north switch back to the winter mix gas already? Every freaking time I stop and fill up when I hit PA on my trip to my parents, my SES light comes on...stays on until I fill back up in VA again. Its the craziest thing I know...thought the mixture might mess with that

im pretty sure the gas is 10% ethanol all the time now everywhere (south and north)....i remember the news talking about how the gas stations were switching to this new mixture over the summer....but i dont think there is a certain winter mixture here

You could buy a basic code reader, find out what the code is, and if you are SURE the code if from a problem that has been fixed, then just clear the code with the code chekcer. Maybe when they worked on your car they bumped a wire loose, or your gas cap isn't on right, could be something simple, or could be a new hazardous problem.
