? so than people with body kits or any modified part needs a civic? weird... a stock steering wheel looks good? I'm sure u would win a competition with one too... Anyways, why are people here so obsessed with civics?

I guess I can see why, they are faster, better, more reliable, and more customizable than an alero but still... I rather would take something that is harder to customize and that u dont see done too often. Civic is not my type.

If you were doing this after performance mods, I wouldn't rip you so much. Our cars weren't ment to be riced. Going to get a huge tach now too?

I think it should be manditory for all rice-burners to have their airbags removed, just to reduce the number of survivors in rice-induced crashes.

Hey now...you watch your mouth lol haha.

I'm not going to lie, but i think alero's are alot better looking. Also, I don't want the reputation of some idiot with a beat up civic with a can. That just is not right. But performance and the ability to customize is alot higher with the civic.

what does rice a car mean? I'm about 100% sure the first cars to be kitted, and modded were american cars... hmm, but ur logic makes sense i guess..... haha

AAS kit, Huge wing, "racing" steering wheel...yeah only thing missing is the fart can and a 13" diameter tach...

if you want one get one, but remember its just a waste of money and your going to wish you had your stock steering wheel with the air bag after an accident.

and a 13" diameter tach...

fitting snugly IN the steering wheel itself, correct? lmao

nhartwell
12-05-2006, 02:42 PM
huh? no my car came with a tach stock, right next to the speedometer. Never seen a standard 2.4 Alero?

I agree with you, the steering wheel is pretty big, not very sporty. But adding an aftermarket one I just dont think will work. plus, its black, where as nothing else in the car is, unless you painted your interior black.

Im gettin an aftermarket steering wheel too....Why not want to make your car look more sporty. Other than the airbag issue (like if you crash) I'd say go for it, just dont drive stupid and think you're a
"drifter" if you do get it:rolleyes2:

As far as your pics go i say #3 FTW

Oh it will work. Also, my racing seats are, all the trim pieces are Carbon Fiber.

if you are dead set on doing it get #3. I personally like having an airbag but that is your choice. As to the civic being faster, im not even gonna get into that...

yes I am definately thinking #3

Do you have a death wish kid?

I am not gonna sit and preach to ya, that's worthless with you. If you absolutely must have one of these unsafe steering wheels i'm with alerored04, go with #3. It's the lesser of 4 evils.:banghead:

Please have a last will and testament prepared, leaving whats left of the car to an Aleromod member, we can strip it for parts. We'll donate the park bench on your trunk to the local park district if they will take it.

lmfao! That's mean :p

If you don't need a wheel don't get one though, airbags are valuble.

First 3 look like wheels found on those arcade games at the movie theatre. The 4th one looks nice, but maybe on a forklift...hmm... hard choice.

Id go with option #5. ;)

ya im not too big a fan of either of those and if this is your car you drive daily, i wouldnt risk loosing the airbag. i think safety b4 appearance

I think most of the people here like CUSTOM work a lot... Buying a wing, body kit, and a carbon fiber hood is not really custom... cause anyone can buy those things... I've seen a lot of aleros here with body kits, but not one of them looks the same cause each person does something different to their car and the kit to make it unique... This is probably the reason why they are bashing you a lot... I've had my share of bashing.... i.e. my interior work....:rolleyes2:

Dude, do what you want, I like the momo steering wheels but not that crazy about the one you picked. Also I know from experience (I have a 13" Grant on my Alero) that the 13" steering wheel tightens up your steering a lot. And don't worry about the airbag thing, back in the day (like the 80's) they didn't have airbags and for some strange reason people are still living after driving. Huh!

nhartwell
12-05-2006, 11:51 PM
Yup, just a hobby of mine, and my buddy has a 13" steering wheel and i love the way u don't have to crank far on it to turn like my stock wheel.

That comment proves you are braindead

And a lot of people were killed needlessly before they were made. Do you realize how many people's lives have been saved by them, or injuries lessened. But I know you young guys are invincible.

:Rage: Tell that to my Aunt who's son was killed by a young guy who was invicible and thought he could control a car after 8 beers. An airbag would have saved his life had he been in my aunt's car with airbags. The young drunk kid was thrown from his car, no airbag, didn't wear his seatbelt.

Dead, very dead!

whiteliquid
12-06-2006, 12:51 AM
And tell how safe airbags how to my friends family, who's son was killed by his neck being snapped from the airbag collision, and another who was burned to death inside his car from a jammed seatbelt....Something can always happen...Life is always Random

Not arguing with you...Because airbags have great numbers with saving lives and reducing injury...but you take the chance of death each time you get behind the wheel and push the pedal

And what i am saying is don't take the risks if ya don't have to. I want to see my girls grow up, and their kids.

Yeah I banged up the Alero, but it wasn't my fault and it will be riding again soon, I can't wait :yahoo:

As for this guy, driving a car isn't like playing a video game in the arcade. All those wheels look like the wheels on the sit down driving games on the boardwalk down the shore.

Sorry I never seen a dash of a manual 2.4 before, but since all Aleros have the same exact dash (excect for the PRND321 in the center) I really don't think it matters.

Removing the air bag is illegal on a road worthy vechial is so equiped. Since your car was made after 1998, it has to have an airbag. Sorry dude, but you're really not racking up the "car Smarts" awards here.

Yes you do need that Civic. You already have the "Mod" skills for a fast civic. Not one damn thing done to the motor, but a couple of grand into apperance mods. The Alero might look better IYO, but the Civic will gain 150 HP from a new steering wheel. You should look into that :rolleyes2:

You's got a 4 banger right? What's a header for a 4 banger $200 to $300 or so? How much is the streering wheel? Get the point? No, maybe I can help

Steering Wheel:

Illegal
Expensive
Apperance mod only
Air bag light needs to be bypassed

Header

Better flowing exhaust
10 to 20 HP gain (typical)
clean up engine bay a bit
better sounding exhaust

Not saying "get a header" I'm just using it as an example. I really think you should get a Civic, you'll be happier

I'm kind of with whiteliquid on the safety thing, anytime you're on the road your life is technically at risk, period. Redog makes a valid point about it being illegal, but so are quite a few mods people do, whether it be darker tint than is legal, or in many states, the ever popular clear corners are illegal, but these are things that don't really get you into trouble and that would probably include the steering wheel, they'd just nail you with a ticket for it if they'd already pulled you over and thought you were a dick....but when it boils down to it, I don't like any of the steering wheels that are displayed here, I don't feel they'd match the interior well even with your seats. Do what you want I guess...
