Are only the OUTER two brake-lights supposed to light up when you brake? Not the inner two that are mounted on the trunk lid?

That is correct.

Thanks!
So the next question is....
Since the inner two lights have dual-filiment bulbs.... can you make them brake lights too?

I don't see why not, just duplicate the wiring to the outer pair. Altho, the bulb housing itself may not be set up to accomodate the wire to activate the second filament. Other than the reverse light I plan to cover up my centre pair of lights seeing as how they aren't brake lights.

I was actually thinking about getting a brighter bulb for the trunk lid tails. I like the taillights on our cars, looks very Europeain.
Jags and Land Rovers have 2 sets of tails and the one set is aways very bright

I think it would look a lot better to have all 4 lights as brake lights... but I don't think I'll be the one to experiment with it. :D
If anyone else does it, or has done it... please post a how-to.
