I have a 2000 GLS and want to put a different shift knob and boot on it. I don't want a push button knob. I know alot of people will hate this but one thing I was thinking of is making a third pedal that would function as the button for the shifter, does anyone know how/if this is possible ?

i dont mean to crush your dreams on this "shift pedal".. but its pretty damn ricer-istic. i mean come on.. you dont have a standard tranny, so a shift pedal to move the auto stick would be your interpretation of a manual tranny, only on your auto
im sorry, but damn man what were you thinking.

What do you suggest then, without a push button.

uhm dont u want a push button? isnt that what prevents u from yanking the car into reverse while going forward? lol i dunno. just a thought. i dont think u can make it work without one (not easily at least)

Or if you're really mechanically inclined you can install a button that activates a soleniod to allow you to shift the lever. you could install the button anywhere.

many shift knobs dont have a button, you just have to push down on the handle to move from gear to gear. search ebay, they are all over that site...
