Steering wheel lighting question

I have noticed lately that my lighting on my steering wheel (cruise, lower, higher, cancel, etc.) lights will come on, and then turn off. When this first started happening I did not even remember having lights in there! I am curious to know if anyone knows what I should do, if the lights can be fixed with a fuse, or if there is a way to take them apart and look more closely at them. Any help will be appreciated, if more info is needed, just let me know...thank in advance
