I'll be going out there one of the days while Im' in a conference in Grimsby..it's only an hour away, and neither me or my gf have been. So we'll take the trip across.
What things should I look into?

buffalo wings, duh, that's where they started. I kick myself for not stopping there for some when I was in Niagra

what part of Buffalo will you be in, and what time of the day?
depending on what you really want to do there's kind of a lot. if you're actually in the city/downtown part of Buffalo in the afternoon/evening hours, there are plenty of bars. (park in places with security though...much safer)
-Anchor Bar
-Pearl St. Grill and Bar

if you're in the suburbs, there's still lots of bars and restaurants.
-Buffalo Wild Wings (there's one on Elmwood near the Regal movie theater, and another on Niagara Falls Blvd in the Tops Plaza)
-Average Joe's, on Sweet Home Rd, about a quarter-mile north of I-990
-Slick Willie's, on Niagara Falls Blvd.
So basically, in Buffalo in the wintertime, all there is to do is eat and drink, and watch movies. There's a few arcades here and there, but I doubt your girl will be into that.
But, if you're here in the earlier part of the day, there's the Science Museum, and...uhhh...spitting off the overpass.
Also, don't rule out Niagara Falls. It takes only about 20 minutes to get from downtown Buffalo to the Falls (use I-190)

Seconded. Whenever I went down to see Noodle we hit up Anchor or Pearl St. usually Pearl St, good wings, good variety of beer, good views.

You would have a better time in Niagra Falls though on the Canadian side. In areas like Clifton Hill, things are a bit pricy though. I recomend going to the Sundowner, that place is crazy.

I dunno if Pat's g/f would like to go to an all girls strip club. But if she wants to see some guy strippers while you look at the girls than peppermints is always good.:yahoo:

You gotta go for the ultimate Buffalo night... catch a Sabres game, then hit Chipiwa until the wee hours of the morning.

unless you already have tickets for a game, that ain't gonna happen. the entire season is sold out except for single seats. you can't buy a pair of seats next to each other.
