well i got my header installed today, and the only problem that we faced was the o2 sensor bung, it was on the wrong side..... he ended up soddering a longer wire to the o2 wire, so that it would reach.....

he said that i will receive a richer signal, but the ECU will make it normal again.....

all i'm asking is if what he is telling me is right.......

the only way the signal will be richer is if the o2 is closer to the motor than its stock placement. thats my understanding anyways.

and yes the pcm will adjust.

lmfao, why the double post!?
why the worthless post?

well i ran into more problems last night

i drove about 50 miles total, and last night my SES light turned on......

so i called the shop again and they said that i would have to now get a longer pig tail inorder to lengthin the o2 sensor..... they said i would prob have to get a whole new wire harness. They told me to go aftermarket like jegs or summitt, but i havent found anything yet.......

i need some serious help, my fuel consumption is terrible now......:(

disconnect your battery for a bit and then go driving and see if the light come back on. im sure its an o2 code but im not sure which one.

try casperelectronics.com i think its the web site they have different 02 plugs
and i thought when disconnecting the battery it onlys removes the ram part of the ecu and does not clear out codes

Yeah, http://www.casperselectronics.com/ is the place that deals with all that stuff. I would think they could help, I've gotten other stuff there before (only like 5 minutes from me)

Soldering a wire under the hood or underneath the car is not exactly the best choice (its a high temp - low temp thing that could render it loose) but you can always use a crimp connector on top of that connection you just soldered so there's no worries. There are O2 sensors on the market that come with a 6 ft. lead wire. If you think you might as well need a replacement simply purchase one of those. I know NGK makes them... heated O2 sensors (3-wire) or single lead O2 sensors.

well, i went back and he did a different kind of soder...... and about 170 miles later, the light came on again :(

i'm going to research a little bit more, and see what comes up...... this whole thing could have been avoided if i would have just sold the header :(
