well, from my experience, when a shop installs anything they will want to make it worth their while and charge at least $100...

uh no, shops make theyre money on labor. Major chains like BB/CC/ABC/ETC all charge 100+(usually $120+). Local shops should still be right around that.

I'd get either a Viper or Clifford, I've installed Prestige before and in my opinion it is not one of the best. It has a lot of flaws in its circuits. If your battery is low the alarm malfunctions and you have no option for back-up battery. Think of it this way... your alarm is on pretty much 24/7. The components inside the module gotta have a low tolerance value to heat, cold, voltage. Components inside the alarm module change their values with temp changes... some change +-5% which is okay,some up to +-20%. Those are the ones you want to avoid, cheap components, not reliable.

well i know about viper and cliffords. but they are expensive as hell. So what about audiovox?
