Hey guys so I recently blew out my engine on my Alero the day I was leaving for a 2 wk vacation @ 118k miles. The car was taken care of oil changes etc. Except for that intake gasket is which why the engine locked up and died I believe. But anyway I had a new re-man Jasper engine put in, now my question to you guys is that since this engine was put together by jasper it shouldnt get this intake gasket leak etc right? Or anything elso the alero engine was known to be faulty at? And does anyone know if this was a good brand to go with? And the durability also? Came with a 3yr 75,000 mi warranty and on a side note the shop that put the motor in flushed out the cooliong system and now I'm running regular anti-freeze which I think is great. any insight is helpful thanks
So basically all in all Jasper? Yay or nay?
jasper has been around for awhile they have quality work plus they give you a warranty. but im not to sure about running regular coolant and not dex-cool. how much did you pay for the engine

I think around 1900 I've been driving it for 2 wks now and everything seems fine they did a pretty quality job putting it in. I would have shopped around a lil more but I left the car at a shop and went a way for 2 wks so I was doing all my negotiating on the phone I had another shop come and pick the car up cuz the one it was at wanted close to 3 grand for a motor with 60k on it. So I shouldn't be getting that intake gasket leak right? Re-man is better then rebuilt also they say
thats not bad. it depends but you shouldnt for awhile. re-man is rebuilt

Well 1900 is what the shop paid cuz they were an authorized jasper installer and what not, but I called jasper directly for a quote and they gave me $2700. I figured I wasn't gonna find a used car for the price I was paying to put a new engine in that was gonna have a 3yr 75k warranty so that's what I went with. So all in all it totalled out to be a lil over 3500. The car itself would been a waste to junk since its in great condition body wise

wow.... for an engine swap that's not too bad, especially if it's rebuilt too
