Ok well tonight i was goin to see some relative where they expose the deads before burrying them. I never saw the lady, but I said to myself I would make a good move and help them get through it. So the place was on a big terrain with small roads like a cemetery. I was looking for the place, goin 10-15 mph on a tapped snow-covered road when I see a black gate right in front of me at about 20 feet, hit the brakes, ABSowned, tried to evade the collision by goin in the wood and hit the edge of the fuckin gate. ) It was night time and there wasnt any phosphorecent sign to be able to see the gate clearly in the dark. Police said that was negligence.

Anyways, My front bumper is screwed, left headlight is in pieces, hood is bent. Fenders look ok, frame behind headlight seems ok too. I'm just wondering what is behind the front bumper that could have broke/bent.

My Air bags didnt blow. I have a haines manual, but they only say how to remove the bumper, however, I need to know what pieces are behind the cover of the bumper. All I could pick was a lot of small pieces. I know the piece that is in front of the windshield washer is broken.

It seems it can be fixed relatively easily without body work by replacing the plastic parts, but what are the pieces I need beside the bumper cover, the headlight and one hood maybe.

Thx a lot in advance, I'll try to get some pics as soon as possible.

behind the bumper cover is an ABS plastic bumper, which is held to the front of the metal bumper by U-brackets. On top of the plastic bumper is a long strip of styrofoam that holds the top shape of the bumper below the headlights (so the poly cover doesn't sag).

You should be able to remove the bumper cover by popping the hood and using a set of needle-nose pliers to pull the two plastic anchors on either side of your hood latch that hold the top/center of the bumper cover in place, and removing the several plastic fasteners from underneath that attach to the skid plate and lower lip, then pull the fasteners from inside the black plastic fenderwell, flex the plastic fenderwell back, reach inside behind the fender, and take out the 3x 10mm bolts that hold the bumper cover sides to the fender. If you have thin forearms, you might be able to access the three bolts from behind the headlights a little easier after you remove them, rather than going through the fenderwell.

Once you have the bumper cover loose, be careful not to catch the edges of the bumper cover on the fender paint while you slide the cover straight forwards away from the front of the car.

This picture shows everything disassembled, but I have removed the black plastic inner bumper to put the additional radiator in for my intercooler.

kitted with what? Razzi, AAS, or forbidden?

On my AAS, I had to shave down the styrofoam or it made the bumper sit too high under the headlights.

Thx a lot BJ, So if I understand clearly, the plastic piece under the car, behind the bumper cover, that protect the windshield washer bottle for exemple, is all in one piece? (the one you see by the holes where the original oem fog lights are)

Is that the piece you are refering as the "skidplate"?

As for the 3x10 mm bolts, I think they are screwed because there's a 1,5 inches gap btw bottom of the fender and the bumper where the bolts are.

the only bent metal I've seen is the kind of silver support that is in front of the rad. It seems to be protecting the rad and have about 1-2 inches of gap btw it and the rad. It has a smal dent in it at the bottom left side of it. Is that important? Theres no leak of coolant at first sight.

Actually, it should be three pieces, one at each corner that protect the washer tank on the drivers side and the A/C condensor on the passenger side, plus the air dam that runs all the way across below the bumper cover.

Ok, now that I've checked the car at daylight, I could have a better Idea what the real dmg were. Here are the pics:

On the first pic, the frame behind the headlight seems ok, but I can't say the same thing for the reinforcement of the bumper that bent a bit but still didnt reach the Rad (whew)

As you can see in the second pic, the bumper cover passed behind the reinforcement somehow. What is that "U" silver thing that is popping out?

I went to the junk yard to get some price for the pieces. They almost all have the same prices. They charge me 150$ for the Headlight, around 300 for the whole bumper assembly out of a green Alero (bumper cover, plastic, reinforcement). For the hood its 250. :(
