I've tried searching a few threads and haven't really been able to come up with any good solutions. I want to keep my stock head unit, but would like to have an aux line to plug my satellite radio into. Any ideas, suggestions, pics, or links would be much appreciated. I have read one website which suggested a line-out converter, but I'm not entirely sure.
Hopefully someone has done this before.
Thanks!

check that, i believe your deck has to have the cd and tape in it. i cant remember though what all oldsmobile radio models have the right plugs. best bet is to pull the radio and check what extra plugs you have on the back of the radio, if any

It's been some time since I pulled the stock radio out (just cd, no cassette) but if I remember correctly there were no extra plugs or inputs/outputs on the unit. I have a feeling that may complicate this problem.

Any idea if this would work?
How hard do you think this would be to install? Looks like a ton of splicing.

if you know it works with your deck thats an easy one. there is no splicing. you just unplug the harness from the radio, plug it into the pac harness. then plug the pac harness into the radio

You've come on here and posted stuff on the Audiovox system in 4 or 5 threads. Sounds more like an ad than a post. You haven't posted since like 2005. Go away.

Lots of folks are going through the same tedious search I did, only to run up against a wall when they find out the 2002 unit cannot accept aux in. I've seen several threads where nobody mentioned the hardwired FM modulator option. So I thought I'd point them to it.
No sales pitch, just a bona fide option for these folks.
And i do truly care about these forums. I am just trying to give back. If you read my installation post, you'll realize I could have posted a lot less detail. But I really want people to know there is hope, and you can do an aux-in with that unit.
Long live the Alero, I bought one new in 2001 and plan on keeping it for a long time. And long live Aleromod!
