On friday my new struts came and I spent the evening at work putting them in. I think I did somthing wrong, the drivers side from squeeks with a very high pitched noise, and the passenger side sounds really rough.
Has any one else with with GR2's had this happen? I followed the steps in the haynes repair manual, though I had a hell of a time with the upper mounts, they were put in 3 or so moths ago along with a set of spring tech lowering springs and not exactly the saem as the stockers(apparently). I havent had a chance to look at it myself, I was just wondering if anyone already knew what was goin on.

the squeaking is from the boot that goes over the strut bar if u just replaced ur struts

Is it a constant squeek or only on actual strut use? What I mean by that is, do you hear it even on smooth pavement?

at low speeds when your turning the wheel its either the washer at the top of the upper mounts, or the boot, if its when your driving on smooth ground and hear it then you have a different problem

no its only when there is a load on the strut, the boot seems like the culpret, I was kinda leaning that way. should I remove the boot or something else?

well if you can buy new boots do that but you can remove the boot if i comes to that, i just think its to shield out pebbles and dirt from the strut, my friend bought new boots in some kit for like $11 each or something, its up to you

I guess I'll get some new boots, is there harm in driving without boots for a while?

Yes. You can get debris in the piston slide and then you have a possible shortening of the life of the strut.

I actually might be able to help you in a way...

I believe I have 2 KYB GR2 strut boots brand new in box at my house.

Let me look tonight.
