Hey, how's it going. Sanding them down - usually until the top is flat - allows for a nice diffusion of light.

Yes, you would still need to sand those. as nigma said, it spreads the light. the only thing w/ those particular ones, is they have the 12v resistor already wired inline for you.

personally, i'd save money and hit up ebay for your desired color. Then a site like http://www.opamp-electronics.com/~opamp/catalog/index.php?cPath=22_27_57
for resistors. That'd be the cheapest way to go.

when i got my leds from ebay, the resistors came with it

but ya, eh_nigma is right, if you want an even spreading of light, sand'em down with a dremel or something. when the tips arent sanded down, you'll have bit dots of light hitting the surface and WILL look like crap lol

I sanded mine down... Looks great! Epsecially for what I did with them...

put orange ones in the side mirrors like so:

and put some blue LEDs in the fog lights which have since been removed due to water leaking in the fog lights:

This is just to give you an idea of what it looks like with sanded LEDs.

Thanks for the responses. I was actually looking at eBay after i posted this and found 50 LED's with 50 resistors for the same price i could get 10 prewired from oznium. the only thing i am wondering now is how to solder the resistor on. Am i right in thnking that u just solder 1 onto the positive prong on the LED?

That is correct. Not difficult, you'll just get lots of burns...
