...then I need your help! :p

Basically, here's the issue. The new seats look like this:

...but the stockers look like this:

The stock seat rails are essentially identical, but they have a mounting bracket at each end of each rail, and they are RIVETTED into place, as indicated by the red arrows. From the top or bottom, they seem to be permanently affixed, and the alero will not kindly accomodate the slide rails directly affixed to the floor. Anyone have any ideas? Just try to bust the rivets?

...Does anyone know why the hell every time I type a word like "indicated", "medical", and "medicated", the filter misspells it with "dink"? What kind of dumbass filter is that?

(Sorry. Typed this message 5 times trying to figure out why I kept typing "dink")

Dont be fooled! .. i install racing seats myself and every car i had to fab up brackets from scratch. It might look likes going to bolt up to the stock sliders but they wont. i guarantee it! before you waste your time.

Upon further inspection, it looks like I can just take the entire rails off the stockers and bolt them right up to the new seat! Just need to drill new mounting holes in the new seat! Woot! I'll toss up some pics when I get done.

I used the stock passenger sliders for both seats in mine. The holes in the sliders matched close enough to the racing seats that I didn't have to do any drilling or cutting.

They have to come off... The dealer changed mine on the passenger side under warranty.

They come off, you just have to take off the foam that you sit on (which sits inside of a metal shell) and there is bolts under that ( I believe, it has been a while since I changed mine), just take the bolts out and the entire bottom slider assembly will come off and then mounting plates can be fabricated for new seats!!

Yes, the whole rail comes off just fine. It's the mounting brackets that won't come off of the sliders. :)

I mean, let's say I remove the entire slider assembly from the seat (which is what I did) the mounting brackets are riveted to the sliders.

I got it all figured out, tho. I just took the stock sliders off the old seats, drilled new holes in the plates on the new seats and attached the stock sliders. They sit up a little higher than the stockers, but they feel fantastic. I'll get some pics up here when I can, but I have been going crazy lately trying to finish this damn overhaul.
