Who do you think is gonna go past the first round??
I personally think Toronto will move past the first round....

works now cuda
of course you want the leafs to win cause you live there just live i say the sens will win....but both teams are so stacked this year with talent that its anyones guess...what i think it will come down to is two things... 1. leafs staying out of the penalty box, cause ottawa has the no.1 powerplay and 2. goaltending- lalime is shaky lately, and belfour is a seasoned veteran looking for a cup...regardless it will be an interesting series

Leafs= Old people should be retired(Leatch,Francis,Roberts)
Sens= young guys skate circles around old people... On our bench we pass around the water bottle NOT A ASTHMA INHAILER... I know we lost the last game of the season but we will take it in 5
GO SENS GO

Leafs= experience
Sens= "kids"(compared to leafs bench) who haven't really been in the playoffs...
even tho the leafs are an older team, they can play just as good as the sens if not better...the only thing that could mess up they're chance is injury as they've been experiencing all season
GO LEAFS GO

Ottawa needs a goaltender. Is Lalime ready for the playoffs? But then again, Belfour isn't injury free either, his back can give at any point. But I said the Leafs, only if Belfour is healthy and Tucker comes back (high energy guy who'll energize the aging team)
99blackalero
04-07-2004, 04:44 PM
it all comes down to the goalies...its anyones series..cause lalime could very well put on the performance he did last year....im hoping lalime and belfour are both hot in this series so it'll come down to raw talent from both teams to decide the victor

Check my post in the Calgary game thread. Toronto is on a roll and Belfour is healthy enough. Ottowa still has not picked up any really good grinders and will find that to be the difference as the Leafs add a real physical presence to their scoring.

^^^^^ That was all in fun for the food bank retard ^^^^^ you could wear your jersey if you gave a can good to the food bank and the SENS organization match all donations...
Ohh yeah we took game 1 HOSSA was amazing did you see that goal and what about Lalime's diving save....
99blackalero
04-09-2004, 12:12 PM
what was going through belfours head when he was trying to poke-check hossa? hossa made him look like a rookie on that one, flying over him and still getting the goal....GO SENS GO!!!!!!!!!!

SENS organization match all donations...
sorry I was misinformed. The way the media played it ..it was like they wanted to make it illegal to wear a leafs jersey at the Coral Centre. I didn't know that there was going to be donations to the food bank and the SENS matching them. If that is the case then it's not too bad of an idea and I think Toronto should do the same thing (although there wouldn't be as much food going to the Toronto food bank as the Ottawa one.)
Now how about Belfour!!!!!!!!! Back to back shut-outs
oh and the retard comment really hurt deep down inside. :wah: no really it did.

I don't feel bad making my first post in this thread a little late...since the series is tied 2-2. I'll say due to game 4 momentum, Sundin being injured and Belfour looking beatable (for now, at least). Sens in 7.
ptrudel

sundin's gonna be back, possibility of nolan bein back too, so leafs still gonna take it

Belfour definitely had an awful game last nite... the rest of the Leafs looked like they spent the day watchin soap operas and were falling asleep...
I don't think the Leafs wanted that game - at least it looked that way. :(
We'll see what happens when they come back home.

i hope the sens explore the goalie market...two weak goals by Joe he let in is not acceptable in a game 7....as for Belfour, he's the only reason the leafs got this far, so mad props to him
Insane75
04-20-2004, 11:27 PM
as for Belfour, he's the only reason the leafs got this far,
true dat!!!! I just hope to hell that he don't get hurt and they have to play Kidd or the other guy (don't know how to spell his name so I'm not even going to try).
Baracuda96
04-20-2004, 11:45 PM
I'm proud of Belfour... he's definitely the reason that the Leafs have gotten this far... He's awsome... The injuries have really affected the Leafs though, and I hope no one else gets hurt.... I can't wait to see the Philly series and I'm cheering for my boys in blue! Go Leafs Go!
I felt so bad for poor Lalime... i mean i know prolly it was a case of the bad nerves that got the best of him... he beat himself terribly over the first bad goal, but when the second bad goal happened, he was totally distraught over that... He did play a good series for the most part. I was shocked that Ottawa has been this quiet all series - at times they were so all over the Leafs, you could actually see the goals happening.. i thought they were gonna totally be all over the Leafs. Alfredsson was really really quiet - goals wise... i expected more from him... and Hossa and the other great players on Ottawa's team was also really quiet for some reason... one of these days, this team will be the team to watch. I guess they just get to golf in the next week.... I wish things could be different and more Cdn teams would remain in the playoffs.

everyone's sayin belfour is the big hero...he is, but u can't forget nieuwendyk either...he was the bigger scorer of the series....and without him or belfour, leafs woulda been dead a long time ago i think...
now the philly series, this'll be a physical one probly...GO LEAFS GO!!

Gotta go for the Flyers here too. There's a lot of people on Philly that I'd like to see win the cup. Primeau, J.R., and Amonte to name a few.
It's not an anti-Leafs view, just pro-Flyers.
havik

Well, I'd like both Toronto and Montreal to win so a Canadian team is guaranteed to make the finals, it's been awhile since we've had one there (Canucks, 94) and even longer since we've won it (Oilers, 90).
But I'm anti-Leafs cause everyone I know is cheering for them (and bashing the Wings at the same time <_< ) so I might be baised when I say this but...
Philly should win the series, unless Belfour can stay healthy. But he was terrible against Philly this year going: 1-3 with a 5.03 GAA and 81.4% save percentage.
Let's see what happens
