I just went to a garage sale and picked up 2 - JL Audio 12WO-4's for $10 a piece, i don't have my amp anymore but i can test them monday, and i was wondering if this was a good deal or not.

I've heard good things about JL, but i've never heard them for myself, so let me know :-)

Thanks Guys

and a picture for shits and giggles

Ya they sold for about $100 new each, sometimes less or more depending on location and possible sales.

Decent little subs, very low xmax... very...

seriously, avoid Wal-Mart audio. Drive up to Tempe and go to Chronic Car Audio if you want a decent amp cheap. You could probably find an MTX amp cheap (they are made here) or Rockford (they are made in Tempe, over off Baseline west of Mills Mall) on craig's list or check the New Times

Problem, big problem

I guess cuz it's Arizona, and the guy is a complete a-hole, i powered them up today, and umm the cone is fine, but that outer edge part that connects the cone to the actual housing is all rotted out, it was ok when i bought it, but i guess i was too excited to REALLY check it, is there some sort of repair kit for this or am i out 20 bucks?

The cone and everything else sounded good, and it pounded...please help

X-Runner Loves gas, 45 every 280 miles, 16mpgish, ouchiebibbles
and i can't drive a stick like a pro yet, that doesn't help either

There is an audio shop around here that repairs butyl rubber surrounds but they note that they do not guarantee the quality or life expectancy of the original manufacturer.

You might ask some stereo shops otherewise get to melting some rubber.

Are those even rubber or are they the foam?

Please use a rubber when pounding...it is the safest option.

Confirm they are Butyl Rubber...I will look for that shop...some low key audio distributor so give me a lil time...seems like the best stuff comes from the grey market
