Dam I just have a feeling that is one wild setup and you better have upgraded your brakes and suspension for it. Nice setup for the V6, still want to know how many horses you might be pushing

Doesnt the 3400 have 2 headers? that would be wicked it you did a custom twin turbo kit on ur ho, ur set up is already ungodly monstereous, I dunno just my 2 cents, you already have something unique, so run with it.

06-27-2007, 02:22 PM
that's huge!!

I want to see a video or a track slip from that. What kinda times do you expect to make?

Do you have a 5spd 3400 or an auto?

Alon Alero

antichrysler I don't think the 3400 models come with a manual gearbox, so it is more likely that he doesn't have a manual, unless he changed that too, lol.

he is running a 4t65hd out of a gtp, with some significant changes to handle the power that is. We are all still waiting on video dude.

yea hes runnin that tranny with some major mods to it. I expect him to be pushin 450+hp and a good mid 11's to low 12's in the 1/4 mile, hell I could be wrong, knowin him hes got plenty of tricks up his sleeves.

no its an auto

alerored04
06-27-2007, 03:53 PM
no thats the auto that comes stock in a grand prix gtp. He wants automatic, they are more consistent for drag racing. And wow is there some bench racing going, spyhunter has 350hp something and he hasnt broken into 11's yet, and that is with the lighter 2.4l, only cause he toasted a clutch. No one knows what it will take to put an Nbody past that.

If I heard right when I talked to spyhunter a few weeks ago he broke into the 400hp mark with his new GT30 turbo so I believe and hit the high 11's in the 1/4, im not sure tho I havent heard from him in awhile on AIM.

^ i highly doubt high 11s on just 400hp, now if hes well into the 400s, closer to 500, id be more apt to accepting it, so long as hes done some weight reduction on the car, going off base numbers here, but ie. dodge viper with 500hp only pulls a 12.2 in the 1/4 but it also weighs close to 3400lbs

alot of speculation going on......I haven't even dyno'd yet.

For those of you who are into making educated guesses, crunch these numbers and we'll start a poll eh?

more tweaks coming later on, but for now:

will be peaking out at around 15-18psi @ 8.9:1 compression, stock cam, 42.5# injectors @ ~70psi fuel pressure.

Any guesses?

1.21 gigawatts

1 gigawatts = 1 341 022.09 horsepower

you do the math.

number1alero
06-28-2007, 01:00 AM
15-18psi is a large margin to be guessing on...but i would say around 450hp, im guessing more power down the road once you get custom turbo cam, i know that right there will open up a huge potential so long as the fuel upgrades are matched (generally speaking, ive found a lot of tuning aspects to be the same on v6s and v8s doing research on a blown setup on my cobra, just a matter of matching the fuel and timing all up together, along with having the heads that can withstand the flow)

on a side note though...its amazing how turbo/supercharger kits can make big differences in power among different models in a certain make (a 96gt with a turbo kit from one company can net 750rwhp while it will only net 550rwhp for the cobra, strange eh?) granted its all about tuning, but this was listed numbers on their website, all from the same kit with the same kind of setup

I don't know how my car will hold up driving down to AZ, since I went to ass with just a 10 hr drive and the engine mount was broke when i got there (the one on the passenger side was broken by each bolt). SO if I drive all the way down there I might not have much of a car left when i get there.

Since I had the car down for the trans swap, I had the turbo setup reworked and repositioned, and also decided to go for a new UIM.

The UIM is based off the 3500 model, obviously, but with a nice twist. The neck for the TB was cut off, and opened up for a 3" pipe with flange for the 75mm TB.

The TB is big enough for me to stick my fist and maybe a honda civic into......

Here's the BEFORE:

It all depends on the driver, temperature, tires, humidity, etc... Ive seen a 97 Viper GTS stock do 11.7 on the 1/4. If spy pulls low 12 on 350 hp, its possible that BJ pulls id say 11.7-8 depending on the kind of traction hes getting.

Nice Set up btw dude.

Spy's at 432 Wheel HP. I'll figure 500hp for the Viper, the older ones are a little less and the newer ones are a little more, but the 500HP for the Viper is rated at the crank. Given an estimated 15% drivetrain loss the Viper is now at 425 Wheel HP. The Viper is also 300-400 lbs. heavier than an N-body. It's said that every 100 pounds you shed from the car will get you a tenth quicker in the 1/4 mile. So that's 3-4 tenths quicker just from weight. Plus, I believe Spy is also running slicks. So now he's got the traction, weight and power advantage over a Viper. I can easily see him hitting high 11's.

Something to consider, there's a turbo Ecotec Cavalier on J-body.org that runs high 11's with around 340 Wheel HP, at the time, on slicks. Since then he's built a new setup with more power, but I haven't seen new track times yet.

Vinalero
07-01-2007, 09:06 PM
Slicks chage anything, like i said, the GTS Ive seen doing 11.7 was stock with no slick. If spy has slick now, i'd say he can do 11.5 or below

For clarifications.............

I ran 12.4@112mph at approximately 350hp... if I had more time and practice at the track that would most likely have been capable of dipping down to 12.2-12.3 at around the same mph plus or minus 2-3mph...

Then I retuned on C16 fuel, 15lbs of boost and busted out 432hp 424tq. Went to the track next day, first run down the track asploded the clutch. I ran 12.4@118mph... If the clutch held together and allowed me to get everything to the ground I would've ripped an easy 11 second pass for sure. Instead I gained some nice mph. Speculation amongst the guys at the shop was that had everything held together I would've squeaked a low 120mph and some 11second insanity.

Another clarifcation before anybody starts running their mouths. At the track I'm on 15rimx8.5widex24.5tall M&H Racemaster slicks on steelies. I also run at the track on full interior. At this speed, unless if I can remove 100lbs, it's not worth it to me.

Cheers.

regardless of how much HP I put out, you definitely will have me on weight just by the 4-banger alone. I'm just glad to see someone with an N-body ripping out low 12's none the less.

People may misunderstand, but spyhunter and I aren't in competition for the fastest N-body (at least I'm not). I consider it more of a team effort to make the other type of car owners take notice of what an N-body can do in street trim.
