Lowering springs? [Archive]

Looking into buying lowering springs for my car. Just wanted to know which ones are best! Thanks

A lot of guys have intrax which lower about 2"
I got the Eibach which lower 1.25" I didn't want to go too low

The ride is great. Handling is a lot better.

The Eibach are $230 of PFYC.com but do yourself a favor and get the sturts too. They are also on PFYC under the GA. I would suggest the camber kit too

First of all jjkool welcome to the site, there is a thing called a search button, use it b4 u ask any question cause this topic has been answered hundreds of times.

Alot like Spring Tech also and they are the cheapest.

I have to disagree w/ redog though, I wouldn't get struts or a camber kit, no need for the camber kit w/ the springs mentioned and as far as struts if you have the money and don't need ne thing else get them so u do it all at once, but I have stock struts w/ 60,000 miles and they are fine.

You will have to get an alignment after you lower it though.

the more your wanting to lower the car, the more roughness your gonna get with it, also your probably going to have to replace other things to get the ride smooth.

I got the camber kit's when i purchased my intrax and kyb's but never used them. still brand new in boxes.

Right now it's come down to the final choice, which will I enjoy more Eibach or Spring Tech? What are the different ratings?

Well, I don't know the ST rates. But the Eibachs are a progressive spring, meaning they are "softer" at the top, but when you puch them hard and they compress more, they get stiffer. Makes for a good ride, but excellent handling when pushed. Rates are as follows (from mfuller):

Front: Progressive; 171#-234#

Rear: Progressive; 87#-143#
