Nobody has actually dyno'd the HO manifold vs. stock, and if they have, they've never posted it, but everyone that has it is happy and has said that it's well worth it.

Slap on the HO manifold along with the 2.3 secret cams, and port n polish and you'll be more than glad you did the swap. And if you want more Quad in your TC than add the 2.3 oil pump and get the 086 head. Many routes to go so choose one.

well, Im not that mechanically inclined, so on a scale of 1-10, how hard is the swap?

Then i suggest having someone doing it for you cause it involves rerouting vacuum lines, cruise control if you have it, and the throttle line. Oldsman has a link on the how to so ask him for it. You should get the spacer to restrict heat transfer to the head. Good luck

What in the world are the secret cams? The cams out of a 2.3HO or an aftermarket set?

they are off the 2.3LO not the HO, if you swap in the HO cams then you have to take the intake cam into consideration since it does not have the hex for the power steering so some modification as to be done. Also I think you need the HO cam towers.

you have some of the info, but not all of it.
here's a link for you, it will be more clear.

as far as the intake manifold goes, i was really happy with mine. gave the engine a better look, better sound, and paired up with the 56 mm throttle body, a nice little bit of midrange power. i still have mine laying around since i went supercharged if you're looking for one. let me know.

So the intake of a 2.3 HO and the cams of a 2.3LO make for a nice 2.4?

It's the Intake cam from a '95 2.3L engine and the exhaust cam from a '90-'94 2.3L non-High Output engine (or 2.3L Low Output as it's also called). Those two together are considered the "secret cam swap" even though they're not all that secret anymore.

I bought a 2.3 intake manifold and TB and have yet to install it. I tried it but couldn't figure it out. Also I cannot find any place to do it for me. Any suggestions.....I wouldn't mind installing it, it's just been sitting in my basement probably at least a year.
