This past weekend I had my hood repainted. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this problem but underneath the very front edge of the hood it was all rusted all along the front. You couldn't tell from looking at the top and there was no holes but it had to be repaired and repainted on the inside of the hood as well.
My mom has a 2002 and I checked it out and it is starting to bubble under the front as well. Just thought I would let people know.

Alero's have a 100,000 mile warranty for rust. You should have contacted your dealer about that.

Is the warranty applicable in Canada.

I would say yes

Go to the dealer and let them say no

my hood is only 9 months old, so I wouldn't know if that's common. *shrug*

yeah that doesn't sound right. My 2001's paint is still pretty good on the hood and trunk, and mine is not garaged.

Funny this should come up I just took my car to the dealership to have my warranty cover the same problem - new painted hood HERE I COME :P

Also, you guys may wanna check the corners of the trunk lid inbetween the bumper and the lid edge. I noticed that on the extreme right and left sides that the paint on both the bumper and trunk is being worn down, and needs touch up too - might be something you guys should look into as well...

My hood needs to be repainted pretty bad. It did the bubbly thing, then flaked off a strip about 1/4" x 4" on the front edge. I've been planning on taking it to a dealer, but corrosion/rust is only 36,000 on mine. To be covered to 100,000 it has to rust through the sheet metal.
