Wow! I was looking between PFYC.com and driverfx.ca, comparing prices on the Eibachs and the Powerslot Rotors... and found something very, very funny... the Powerslot rotors go for 190 and 188 US a set on PFYC... and 150 and 129 CDN a set on driverfx.ca... seeming how my breaks are squealing yet again, I'm thinking I might grab a new set of rotors :)... could be some income tax money well spent...

K... wait a min here... looking back on them, I think the CDN prices might be PER ROTOR... bah! I'll have to call and find out...

by "set" do you mean 2 or 4? the price i was told at one of the local shops here was $90 each. also what are the best kind of brake pads? i am getting my rims on saturday and want some that dont create an ass load of brake dust.

As far as GM cars go, you want to go with the GM stock brakes, unless you've got bigger rims, you'll have to go aftermarket because the stock brakes won't stop you when your rollin' with that much more surface area in contact with the ground. I know that I drive like I'm a bat out of hell and I'm gettin' larger rims in the near future so it's a brembo set for me, and sayanora baybe...but generally I've heard good things about Powerslot, Eibach is definitely a close second though. If you've got the green, go with brembo, they are THE BEST and will stop you on the dot, I know cuz my camaro with a brembo set wad go from 60 to zero allot faster than the eibach set I had before.

I bet your wondering why I suggest the Gm stock brakes, it's because they supposedly last the longest (word of mouth at the shops.)

When did Eibach start making brakes for aleros (or any car for that matter)? Also

The brembo OE rotors are CHEAPER than the powerslots ($49 ea for front, $47 ea for rears), so Its not a $$ matter. If you mean a complete brembo kit with new calipers and rotors you will have to do some mixing and matching since they don't make a set for n-bodies.

As for the word of mouth about the OEM rotors...what do you expect the GM tech to say "out rotors are junk"? The bit about more surface area is just not true, ask the guys with 18+" wheels. The only way you are gaining surface area is if you get a wider wheel. And as we all know a larger contact patch is always better for handling, including braking.

OK, all the crap above aside....

Brembo rotors and Bendix rotors are both fine for OEM replacements. They will last MUCH longer than GM stock. GM rotors are known to warp in MANY MANY cases. My Alero's did (18,000 miles)... My wife's Malibu's did (14,000 miles)... and lots of others on this site. GM uses junk rotors. Only a few have not had them warp.

For pads, I have Powerstop 9-1-1's from Phil's Inc. online. Very little dust (much less than stock). But there's lots of others with different kinds on the site. Do a quick search, you should find something.

yeah, the GM rotors are pretty horrible. I replaced mine at 18k, and put brembos on. I now have like 53k, and havn't had to touch the brakes. I had my shop use some aftermarket pads that I don't remember the name of.

I bought a set of the FB performance crossdrilled ones off ebay. The ones OLDSkool sells. they are very sweet. If u paint the hubs on them so they don't rust they look even sweeter.

and i paid only like $125 US plus shipping for all 4!

i'll have to post some pics, but i have no complaints.

If anyone is interested Hit up Jeff (oldskool) i think he can still get them
