Yeah, just buy 5 of the 194 LED bulbs... The bulbs that are in there are soldered on the holder, but you can easily get those off... Then, I would solder the LEDs on the holder. I didn't do that, and a couple of them like to flicker on and off a lot.... So I'll be soldering mine in.

See. Technically, It's not a 194 bulb. I looked into this. it's a 195, which comes already in the holder. I wasn't feeling too confident on Swapping that out so i didn't bother. I mean, Those bulbs are a bit expensive if you break the holder. And you Won't find 195's Coloured.

195? really... I've always seen then as a PC194. Either way you can buy just the holder at AutoZone and use a regular 194 style bulb.

Thanks bud. I can't remember how long it's been since I did them. lol I've gotten use to them being in there.
The 194 bulbs work in there even if it's 195 bulbs. My LEDs are 194 bulbs. All I did to take the other bulbs out was just break the solder off and pull the stock bulbs out. Then slide the LED bulbs in. I'm going to take mine apart cause one of them is a little loose. I would recommend soldering the LED bulbs in like the stock ones were to better hold them in. But thanks for the comments guys.

I didn't solder mine either, but one of them worked its way loose, so I might end up soldering them.

I was wondering, are the stock bulbs green? If not, what makes the green color in the gauge?
Satsuriku
08-27-2007, 10:38 PM
the bulbs are clear and its the green film thats behind the guage that gives it its green glow, but LED's are strong enough where the light just cuts through them and still look bright and blue (or what ever color you choose)

Now, Do you have to use a LED bulb? Becuase the ones i had ordered were Eurolite Blue tinted bulbs, I figured a LED would be too bright. But would the blue still show through the green you guys think?
The 2 pack of blue 194's was 93 cents. Instead of 10 bucks a LED bulb.

Its not 10 bucks a bulb at that we site posted at the beggining of the thread.

Which works fine if you have a credit card.
How would I go about changing the rest of the interior lights? Like down by the shifter or on the AC buttons and whatnot.
TheMeaningOfLife
08-28-2007, 03:51 PM
The shifter one is a 194 bulb to, so pull off the shifter get that plastic piece up and swap out the bulbs.
cherrington17
08-28-2007, 05:23 PM
took the bulb out of the shift console, expoxied in the hole where the bulb used to be, and drilled holes under each letter, then inserted 2 leds into each. (since i'm running two different colors)
