When I first turn on my car the rpm hits about 2 grand for a sec then slowly lowers back down to around 1,000 after a few secs and then if i dont put the car in drive or reverse right after this, the needle will slowly go to 1,500 rpm and stay there until i get out of park. When i am parking the car and shift it out of drive into park the car will always do this: shoot up to 1,500 rpm and stay there until I turn off the car.

If I go through the gears this is what happens if Im parked:

PARK- stays at 1,500 rpm.
REVERSE- 1,000 rpm and sometimes drops suddenly to 750 -800 rpm and might go back to 1 grand.
NEUTRAL- stays at 1,500 rpm.
DRIVE- 1,000 rpm and sometimes drops suddenly to 750-800 rpm and might go back to 1,000 rpm.

Im just trying to figure out whats going on with a idle this high?

its the 3400. If i remember correctly did you install a big tb? i just installed my 65mm tb and the throttle plate was contacting the throttle cable bracket, not allowing it to close fully and forcing a high idle.

yep the 3400....yeah man i put in that rsm 62 mm t/b and a bunch of other intake and exhaust stuff at the same time and a tuned computer. Your saying your t/b plate thats inside the body was contacting the bracket on the outside of the body? How is that possible....but i will check mine to try to see what you're saying.

no, the part where the throttle cable connects to on the tb was contacting the bracket for the throttle cable.
