This is a new one for me. I changed the battery in a 1999 Alero and when done found that the gas gauge needle was up above the full peg. How do I go about getting the needle below the peg so it shows the correct amount of fuel in the tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It my viewing of gas gauge posts I ran across this old one too, if the probelm was never fixed, take the cluster out and take the bezel off and just flick the needle down under the peg. during electrical surges or shocks to the alero causes all the gauges to go from 0 to all the way in like 2 seconds, gas, speed tach, and whatever else is on there, sorry been a while since i have seen my cluster

you are probably going to have to buy another gauge cluster
