Hey, just checked out an aftermarket tire and wheel shop, found a set of gorgeous 18's for my ride but their 18x8's are cheaper than 18x7.5 in the same style and finish. My question is, will the 8 inch wide rims fit on my car, or would I need to find 7.5's? the weblink for the exact rims is:here (http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Store_Detail.cfm?ID=112196&InfoID=2505&ShowLarge=True). Whadya guys think? The store I found 'em at, sells the set with tires, firelli's for 950.

Yeah, 8" wide will work as long as the offset it somewhere close to 38... and get 235 wide tires (225's will look silly)

wouldn't 235's spill out over the sides of the rims??

no, 235's will fill it perfectly. 225's will be stretched out. 245's will look good too, but might rub.

I'm not buyin' from that site, I found a wheel and tire shop by my house that sells those rims with pirelli's for 950. I wouldn't buy something that expensive off the internet if my life depended on it.

I had 18x8.5 so 8" will definatly fit and i was running 235/45/18 nitto's and had no rubbing issues. The 235's fit the rim perfect to

Jesus 8.5"? You could fit a 265 tread width on a rim that wide... I don't see why an alero couldnt handle a tread width that wide if the rim itself fits?

no, 245 would be too wide unless you have the right offset. 245 is possible... anything higher and I'd wager you'd need to move in the struts.

so i want to run a 245/50/r17 wheel/tire combo...
What offset if wheel is required to make it work??
Any one know for sure

i just got my rims put on today and so far no rubbing problems. however one of the rims is defective (chrome is chipping) and i am getting it switched out when i get back from leave on the 26th. i'll post picks later. the rim is like a cm or two away from the strut.
