Okay guys.. heres the deal.. I am close friends with someone who is the owner of a performance exhaust shop who makes custom intakes.. He can make intakes for the 2.2 Eco Tech that will be a complete CAI tucked into the fenderwell and everything with filter for around $125-$150ish American...

Just gauging intrest in this... want to know how many people are interestead in it to see if there is even a need to start the project.

Yea there is no way I would pay $300 U.S for one.. thats ridiculous.... there will only be pics if I get enough intrest to invest my time and money into this project..

Sounds good, I'm interested. How much interest is needed for this project to get off the ground?

OLDSskool

It will be some sort of 3" polished tubing.. The shop does madrel bending as well so I am not sure how we are going to to do it as of yet... I will stop by his shop sometime next week probobly now that I know there is some intrest.

Well, then seeing as you are in CA, I will be quite interested in this once you get the product off the ground. Keep us posted dude, and keep up the good work!

I would be very interested as well. I also live in Ontario so that is even better. Will it come with all the required mounting hardware?

havik

It should, and if it doesn't then I'm sure any additional parts will be minor in nature

as of right now its a very very rough draft of them.. I personally wouldnt sell them the way they are.. I mean for the price he got his for its a good deal.. but people want them to look "pretty" not be functional for the most part.. we are looking into having them powdercoated with the companies name stenciled onto them...

Updates will follow :)

Well, looks are one thing but I don't think I'm alone when I say please don't sacrifice functionality for appearance.

BLK03GXS

I could really care less....
If they are hella functional and cheep, i'll paint the damn thing myself :D

OLDSskool

Thats EXACTLY what I say... but.. I mean you guys know what your doing and thats totally cool.. there are a lot of people out there that will look @ this one and look at other "professional" ones from large companies.. and the large companies looks PRETTIER and they will buy that.... We wont be able to get them cheaper by only selling you guys ones... So far I think Malero paid like $200 for his.. CAD...

Painting it Gun Metal, looks real nice.

Probably like $200.....but since it is welded together shipping could be trouble

that' s basicly regular price
i was thinking more of $125 to $150

$200 CDN is about $150 USD (or less, depending on the market).

3" Pipe?
How many Bends? What Kinds?
With or Without Filter?
Pics of Filter location?

BLK03GXS
06-24-2004, 08:55 PM
that intake looks like a good start... but whoever is doing this needs to get their poop together and get us definitve prices, shipping costs, and if these are gunna be USD or CAN.

Because for 200 can i could prolly get something similar made here localy...

But the pics look good, but is it kinda close to the positive batt... or is just the angle?

MikeSS
06-24-2004, 09:22 PM
LOL, yeah it is just the angle....look at the second pic and you can see there is clearence. And it is $200 Canadian, without the filter. But shipping is a nightmare since it is all welded together, so this is going to be a local thing only I guess. There are 3 90 degree bends and 1 45 degree bend. All mandrel (probably spelt wrong) bends. I can't really get a pic of the filter, unless I remove my headlight. I'll do that soon.

It COULD be shipped there... but would be a biotch in costs...

Sorry to poop on your thread but if its welded like that then your best bet is to go to a exhaust shop and get one bent.

Well.. it can always be cut and placed back together with couplers...

BLK03GXS
06-25-2004, 09:06 PM
why not just ship them Non welded with couplers and clamps... like a real CAI...?
