when you say repainted, did you repaint, or take it to a shop?

But I got a coupe, so I couldn't tell you if its common or not.

Have they checked the alignment on the door ?? The door should stick out just a touch. I think what is happening is the door looks like it's sucked in a little and you're getting rocks coming down the side and getting stopped right where it's chipping.

I have a coupe, and I noticed that mine was doing something similar... its gone now, the paint from the accident took care of it :) Must be like Honda rot... every older Honda you see is rusting on the rear wheel well.

Mine does the same thing... it's from road salt and excess water due to it's proximity to the drainage lines. There's usually a small cup like peice in the body in the rear fender that fills up with water. My car also has a new paint job and it's back again. However, I have little to any faith in paintshops around here as there is still rust under the weather stripping of the door...

Mine had a little bit in that area, too.

let 'em put the the plastic covering on it. its not all that noticeable and it'll save your paint...
