Gotta love that auction!

I'm not sure about the fog lights though.... I'm sure it can be done. You'll just have to do all the wireing and whatnot.

it's most likely already wired for them, you just have to find the connectors...i'm not totally sure on this, but i believe they are on the same harness as the headlights.

I can tell you that for a GX, the wiring harness is different. I have a new forward lighting harness for my car to add the fog lights and convert the DRLs to the high beams.

just put the fogs in and wire them trough a relay so you just turn them on and off with a switch but also if you leave them on, they will go off with the key. It'ud be pretty easy to do, i'm thinking of doing it to my car when i get the money for the fog lights.

You could just wire them to the headlights so when they come on automatically, the fog lights do too. You won't have to worry about wiring and mounting a switch anywhere.

^ then you could only have them on when lowbeams are on. I guess if your worried about being legal, or it doesn't make a difference to you if they can be on with highs, that would be the way to go.

My fog lights turn off when I turn on the highs. My fog lights are stock with my car.

The stock fogs only come on with the low beams and turn off with high beams. It's not a question of legality, I don't think it matters if foglights are on with the highbeams, it would just be easier to mount them, wire them to the low beams and be done with it.

Or do as i did, buy a set of after market ones tuck them in the plastic piece the stock ones go in and run them to a switch inside the car. Then they are on and off whenever u want.

i have mine hooked up to the headlights at this moment. i went to the junk yard yesterday to get the full wiring for it and its a pain in the ass. the wiring is not set up on the gx or gl. you need to route all the wires yourself. im gonna do mine throughout the week and i'll post up some pics for you guys. im gonna use the stock wires from the fog lights, "purple, orange and black wires."

This ones for the dare that meadus101 did.

For a better description here is how the wiring goes for the fog lights:

1.) from the fog light switch the purple wire runs to the fuse box on the passenger side where it goes hooked up to a relay and a fuse.

2.) from the passenger fuse box the same purple wire comes out from that hook up and it goes to the fuse box under the hood.

3.) from there it goes to each fog light.

4.) for the orange power wire from the fog light switch, it runs to the pink connector at the pcm on the passengers side.

5.) the black(ground) wire goes to the ground connector under the hood by the air filter.

thats pretty much the notes i took yesterday at the junk yard while i was taking the wiring off for the fog lights. i'll have a better description and pics once i get to do it to my car.

Why would it need a wire to go to the PCM??

Cliff8928
09-16-2007, 10:40 PM
It goes to the BCM actually. The fog light switch goes to the BCM, the BCM controls the fog light relay.

oh ok. my bad. i thought that the bcm and the pcm where the same thing. well, i guess it goes to the bcm. so whats the diff between the two cliff8928?

hey guys, sorry i havent posted a how to yet on the fog lights. it was alot easier to take the wiring off than to put it on the alero. im missing the green wire that goes from the relay to the bcm. im heading to the junk yards sometime this week, so i'll be able to finish the installation. i have pics of everything else, but dont want to post them up when its not finished if anyone is still interested, just pm me and i'll send you what i have done so far as the wiring goes. once again, my appologies.

I picked up my lights today. they come with all the wiring and a switch and crap, so i guess i'll do em with a friend of mine on friday. My only fear is i may have bitten off more than I can Chew. Me + Taking parts off of my car = never going back together.

I have my lights mounted and wired., I'll post a pic up sometime later this week. However, I didn't do them the way i wanted, I just wanted to wire them to the stock headlights, but it was easier to Wire them completly separate from the headlights, they're on their own switch mounted in thatlittle compartment on the left by the headlight dimmer. It worked out pretty good, but i managed to superglue my fingers together.

All is well if my car didn't burn.... yet.

hey guys, sorry about the delay. im still having issues with the fog lights. everything is wired properly, i just dont know if the bcm needs to be reflashed with the foglight settings. the reason i say that is that when i flip the switch on, the power dies to the switch. power goes to it until i turn them on. do you guys know what it could be?

joserivas19
10-19-2007, 11:22 PM
also, if you guys still want the how to, i can post it, but i just wont be able to verify that it works until i get mine to work. ive been having long days here at the subase, so i dont have much time to work on them. sorry guys.

Yes, the BCM needs to be re-flashed with foglights enabled.

oh ok. thanks cliff. do you know how much it would be at the dealer? or is there another place that can do it also?

Cliff8928

it's possible somewhere else could do it, but i doubt that anyone else would have a Tech2 and the SPS software.
