View Full Version : Fuse Keeps BLOWING?

Me and my buddie where puttin a system in his car the other day and for some odd reason the fuse on amp keept Blowing?:S We ran new 8 gage wires throught with fuse and we bolted the ground down drilled a hole and sanded it. no cuts in wires.. And we must of blewn 8 fuses. The amp is rockford p3001 it has 40 amp fuse. But we blew them all evry time we tried to connect the power to the amp. after evrything els was pluged in Anyone know? BLOWN DIOD IN amp??

Whatever it is, its the amp.

Unless for some very odd reason you switched the 12V + and negative...?

I agree with Ryan its either the amp or there might be another area that is grounding.

I agree with the other guys but I would also look at the connections on the amp and make sure that you don't have a little of the ground wire touching the 12+. If your not using any type of terminal lugs then that could be a problem. If all else fails send it back! You could put another amp on the same wires and see if the fuses blow. That would eliminate your wiring, but I doubt thats it in the first place, can't hurt to try though.
