Carputers?

Im new to the whole carputer thing and I was wondering aproximetly how much it would cost to do one of these convertions? I think it would be awsome installing one of these and the ones ive seen on this site look awsome. -thanks

I am currently up to $600 and I only have a few little thingsd to add when i have the time

i'm at about $475 and have everything i need.

u could build one for nearly nothing if you have donor computer and patience.

small footprint is gonna cost, and a touchscreen lcd (i think we all have one don't we? 4 of us? voodoo, master, storm, me?) is quite pricey @ $275 or so.

here's my setup:

laptop dvd $26
512 ram donor
7" widescreen touchsreen $260
GPS $65
12gb laptop hard drive $10
pw-70a dc-dc power supply $30

and maybe $20 in relays, diodes, switches, leds, wire, etc etc

beware... takes alot of troubleshooting and time, but WELL worth it.

if the price seems high... well go price out a 7" lcd, dvd player, gps system, hard drive based receiver and you will be in the thousands in no time.

I am building one from spare parts I have in my computer graveyard........lol
