There doesn't seem to be a pink wire shown for a 2001 (which is the first year of the new body).
For the old body style, these are the pinouts.
Pin Wire Color Circuit No. Function
1 PNK 39 Fused Output - Ign 1
2 BLK/WHT 351 Ground
3 LT GRN 24 Back -Up Lamp Feed
4 GRY 1690 Mirror Signal - Outside
5 PNK 1691 Mirror Signal Return - Outside
6-7 -- -- Not Used

thanks for the info cliff. i was messing with the wires yesterday and found that the pink is just a power wire. but the one that i need now is the light green wire also from the rear view mirror. it goes to this on the aurora:

its right under the main fuse box under the hood. but in the aurora it has two clips like this one:

and our cars only have one oversized clip. also, what would the wire color be on our cars? thanks.

never mind cliff, i did alot of searching today. i found out that the mirror if a Gentex brand mirror. also that the 3 wires that mine has are pink-12v, green-back up light(something about it turns off the auto dimming on the mirror when you back up), and black-ground. they also told me that mine doesnt have the temp portion of it. it says it does, but it doesnt have the wiring for it. so as a summary the green wire that i needed is supposed to be hoked up to the back-up lights. thanks for all your help cliff. really appreciate it.

Yep, it's to un-dim the mirror at night so you can see where you're backing up.
Your mirror doesn't have temp... I don't think any of the Auroras do, do they?

im not too sure if they do. the one i got only has the compass/mirror switch. maybe the bravada or another model has the temp on it. the reason why i though mine had the temp if cuz i saw someone that had it, but theres two versions of the same model. its a Gentex gntx-177. theres 2 versions for the same mirror. but thanks for your help cliff. im gonna head to the junk yard right now to see if i find one that does have the temp button.
