OK ive been chatting with buddies of mine who are all into the same tuner, car moding sceane like most of us are, and they all take out the sound insulation that is placed all about the interior of there cars. They say its to lose a little wieght of the car. Now, if we where to do this to our cars, 1 would it really be all that much wieght 2 does it have an ill effects like its colder in the winter and hotter in the summer. And if its worth doing where is it all located, i know there is some under the back seats and in the door panels. And one more question, that big black foam piece on the bottom of the hood, can i take that off without there being any big issue, mines all dust and it wont clean up.

Well our cars have very little sound dampening in them to begin with. Actually its horrible if you take out the rear plastic/seats!
You might be able to shed 50Lbs if you take out all the trunk carpet and the padding under the interior carpet.
However it will be louder than hell.
IMO only a real idiot would do that. Its not a race car! Its not a high performance car. Its an Alero. Its fairly decent and looks good...

Thats what i figured would happen, but what about the hood thingy, it makes my whole engine bay look like royal ass.

The hood insulation can come out with no problems except the hood will be warmer to the touch than before and maybe a little noisier, it helps absorb sound also.
If you choose to keep it in, just give it a spray down with low pressure hose and let it dry flat on the ground, if you stand it up it will probably bend in 1/2 and leave a crease in it. I do this to mine and it looks like new.

If there is oil spray on it, you will need to spray degreaser on it. Most of the time it's usually just a bunch of dust and bugs.

I pressure sprayed mine while at the car wash with no problems...of course you don't want to hold the nozzle right up to it or you will cut through it, but I never had a problem doing it that way....saves some time! Plus the heat from the engine will dry it in no time.
thats a new one, how much weight do you expect to lose by removing foam lol?

Like Oldsnut said your hood will be warmer...
I would spray it with some degreaser and hit it with a scotch brite pads and wash it down.
